April’s Calendar –
Why do we do the Citizens with Disabilities
Campaign (aka Tootsie Roll Drive)? All those
hours some of us have stood outside stores like
Publix and Walmart have enabled us to collect
$1938.77 thus far that will be donated locally
to directly support those with disabilities in our
community. Our LAST CHANCE, to really do
some wonderful work will be at Walmart over the
weekend of April 17 – 19 and also after all masses
that weekend. We really would like to have two
individuals at both doors so we can end up with a
really big number to give.
Monthly Breakfast – Team B will be hosting this
event on Sunday, April 12th. FREE Coffee and
Donuts for those who have already had breakfast
before mass and just want to stop by and share
some Fellowship with your Parish family members.
Seminarian Dinner Dance – April 11th, 6 – 10 PM,
Third annual year of great time, food, dancing
and games. Get your tickets after all masses, at
the parish office, and on our council website up to
Wednesday, 8 April. Call Tom Scherch 614-4009
and Greg Donaldson 655-4106. All proceeds go to
support our seminarians studying to serve our
diocese. So dust off your dancing shoes and get
ready to join us for a fun evening at the Country
Club of Orange Park. We will also have our annual
Raffle for those who cannot attend the dinner for a
week’s stay at a Condo Timeshare at a location to
be decided by the winner (Travel not included).
Faith In Action from this past month. Thank you
all who helped in these areas:
BBQ Sunday – Dave Counts and Jack Davitt
lead this event, which was widely supported by
parishioners and workers to make this a sellout of
an event. Thanks for your support.
Monthly Social – Phil, Bob, Renato and Mike
have done it again. Great meal and Trivia Night.
Thanks guys and to all those who attended.
Easter Food Collection – Mac McDonald has done
a marvelous job this year again with coordinating
the collection of enough donations to help those
receive food for their families during the Easter
Holiday. Thanks to all those who helped with
donations and to those who help sort and box all
the donations this Fraternal Year. It has been a
record setting year. I am recommending that if
there are any leftover funds for this line item in
our budget, they be donated to St Vincent DePaul
Society to be used as food gift cards.
Citizens with Disabilities – Last year we did great
with this program and helped many individuals
with disabilities have a little joy in their lives.

From the Lady Knights
The Lady Knights met on March 12th in the Siena
Room and began their meeting with a scripture
reading and prayer. Three new ladies were
welcomed as they attended their first Lady Knights
meeting. It was so nice to greet Patti LeSeur,
Debbie Graleski and Mary Graf. Reports were
given by the Treasurer, Secretary, Sunshine Officer
and Office Liaison. They discussed the need for a
membership chairman and what that office would
entail. Everyone was reminded that food was being
collected for the disadvantaged and would be given
out as Easter Baskets. The food will be sorted after
the 10AM Mass on Palm Sunday in Haut Hall.
A Membership list was passed around to update
information including emails, birthdates, and
Wedding Anniversary information. Anyone
who wants to update this information can email
Mardelle at Mamardelle@aol.com.
Lady Knights Vicki Counts, Christine Johnson, and
Mary Palmer show off their Saint Patrick's Day Cards.
A suggestion was made that the Lady Knights
make a donation to help with the cost of Fr. Jose
Maniyangat’s personal Chalice and it was voted on
unanimously. The Chalice is a gift for Fr. Jose in
honor of his 42nd Anniversary.
We ended our meeting with prayer and then as
a surprise for the Ladies, and in honor of St.
Patrick’s Day, the left over time was used to make
some St. Patrick’s Day cards. We extend a big
“Thank You” to Pat Fiedler for putting together
these card packets for everyone. It was a fun way
to end the meeting.
Mary Graf, Lyn Hall, Debi Graleski, and Patti LeSeur
joined in on the fun, and made some cards of their own.
We wish everyone a blessed Holy Week, and
wonderful Easter.
Sincerely,
Mardelle Wehby
Lady Knights President
Nancy Wetherbee, Linda Skulsky, Lupe Thielen,
Mardelle Wehby were clearly having a good time.
Knight of the Month
Family of the Month
One of the plans that I wanted for our council and
parish when I became more involved with leading our
council was that I was hoping for individuals to find
their “event or program” that they would take
as their own area each time we did it. Over the past
five years, I have seen some individuals who accepted
that challenge and because of those individuals, our
community is better off. I have seen those who come
and work multiple shifts at the bazaar, another couple
of guys love serving spaghetti at the annual Spaghetti
Dinner and each time, they tell me that they wish they
could do more but they are doing exactly what I was
hoping for.
This couple came into our faith about a decade ago and
he will tell you it was one of the best things they did
for their family and made a wonderful marriage even
greater. Together they live their faith daily and their
love for Christ has grown immensely. In our parish,
they go to adoration together and have supported other
areas within the parish when called upon.
During this past month, this Knight is being recognized
for his wonderful work to ensure our council meets our
desire to support those with disabilities, especially the
children with disabilities. He coordinated the Citizens
with Disabilities for our Publix at College. Each day,
he ended filling in a few hours of collecting, sometimes
by himself. When I thanked him, his response was that
this was his “thing” that he really liked supporting.
So this month, I am choosing one individual who will
represent those unsung servants of the Lord who have
found their thing to support our community. In this
case, his extra efforts will enable some wonderful
families to be able to see their children enjoy themselves
this summer at a week of camp. This Knight is an active
example of a wonderful serving Catholic Gentleman
and has been selected Orange Park Council’s Knight of
the Month for March 2015, Knight Sal Magaddino.
In His Service,
Jay Heather
Grand Knight
Council # 7399
They are involved in Teams of Our Lady (Tool) and are
the Responsible Couple for their group which means
that they communicate the necessary information to the
other couples within their group and then help run the
monthly meetings and annual retreat for their group.
They are also involved in the parish’s small Christen
Community (Old Orange Park) community.
He has been involved with leadership roles in the
council and Assembly for the past year which is greatly
appreciated. In the council, he assists me with the
Breakfast Team #2 as well as several other areas. He
is slated to be the Deputy Grand Knight the next
Fraternal Year. When help is needed, he can be counted
upon. Lastly, he has been very helpful with the parish’s
Grounds and Buildings Maintenance committee which
is instrumental in achieving the goals of Phase One of
Fr. Iggy’s Five Year Plan.
They are an example of what being a Catholic family
and proactive servant is all about. It is with great
pleasure and honor that I announce Sir Knight “Greg
and Kathy Donaldson” as our Family of the Month for
March 2015.
