Director, Consumer Engagement

 Director, Consumer Engagement Marketing
We are looking to add a hilarious, collaborative, creative, fearless, fast-thinking, multi-tasking
machine to our cabal of the same. What is 206? We’re a ten-year-old nontraditional, non-cliché
marketing agency based in Seattle. Our client roster is peppered with the biggest of international
brands and many regional brands, for which we assemble creative, comprehensive
campaigns. Many of our clients have been with us for years and keep coming back for more. Our
new clients quickly become a part of the family.
The goal of a director is to manage clients and campaigns from concept through to final reporting.
A workday at 206 will resemble something like this: you come to work. You e-mail, you talk on
the phone, you organize the un-organized. You think and act on the fly. You manage whatever
needs managing to keep our campaigns blazing forward. You report progress along the way, and
keep your eye on the ultimate deliverables that our clients need and expect. You thrive on
deadlines and making the difficult happen. As the day goes on, you might have a little spike of
stress. You hear one of your colleagues say something slightly inappropriate, and a wave of
guffaws ripples across all the desks, yours included. Your stress level comes down, and you
continue to plow through your to-do list.
Key responsibilities and required skills include:
•
Marketing Strategy and Tactics: Develop compelling market solutions that exceed client
expectations. This requires a knowledge of - and passion for - consumer marketing, including
important new trends, marketing channels, and campaign analysis. Also, this requires
developing knowledge of each area of agency expertise and 206’s strategic methodology,
including social media, PR, digital media, experiential and partnership marketing, branding
and paid media.
•
Project Management: Create and manage project plans, including project objectives, details
and logistics from start to finish with limited, strategic input from Partners. This requires
excellent planning, organization and prioritization skills, including the ability to multi-task,
prioritize, and apply resources effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
•
Communication: Work closely with clients on a strategic and day-to-day basis. Provide clear
and actionable information related to projects, and consistently guide clients regarding
strategic and tactical decisions. This requires excellent written and verbal communication
skills, including the ability to present ideas effectively and communicate with clients, vendors,
and others on the phone, via email and in person.
•
Team Management: Maintain solid relationships with internal departments and team
members. This requires the ability to effectively lead a team of 3-6 direct reports and up to a
dozen people on a given project.
•
Accountability and initiative: Ability to grow existing accounts, identify new opportunities
and lead efforts to secure business. This requires a great work ethic and being a self-starter.
Ideal candidate is ambitious and willing to provide assistance whenever and wherever needed,
including possible nationwide travel on short notice.
