ABOUT BIOLYTICAL
bioLytical Laboratories Inc. based in Richmond, BC, Canada is a privately-owned Canadian
Company federally incorporated in 2002 and focused on the research, development and
commercialization of rapid, point-of-care in vitro medical diagnostics developed using its
proprietary INSTI™ technology platform. Today, the company sells and markets its INSTI™ HIV
test and has a world-wide footprint of regulatory approvals including US FDA approval, Health
Canada approval and CE mark. Our product provides a highly accurate HIV test result in as little
as 60 seconds which translates into a compelling value proposition for patients, healthcare
professionals, and public health organizations.
SUMMARY
This is an entry level position. Reporting to the Planner/Buyer, the Junior Buyer aids the
purchasing department in all aspects of its duties. Basic responsibilities include creating and
managing all department purchase orders, coordinating delivery to meet production timelines,
assisting in sourcing new vendors and supporting vendor qualification.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Process purchase requisitions for goods and services
 Perform daily follow-ups on all open orders
 Source goods and services through qualified vendors, or search and evaluate new
vendors through established processes, focusing on pricing, delivery and quality
 Coordinate logistics for shipping and delivery
 Discuss defects and delivery issues with suppliers and negotiate returns/credit
 Provide timely and accurate responses to all internal customers
 Maintain accurate data records as assigned
 Process and extract various reports as assigned from inventory management system
 Participate in process improvement initiatives
 Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
 Post-secondary graduate
 Strong computer knowledge and Microsoft Office needed
 Exceptional attention to detail
 Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced
environment
 Organized and self-motivated; able to work both independently and as a team
 Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
 Creative and resourceful
 Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people
 Candidates with purchasing experience will be given priority
 Experience using an ERP system is a plus
