Fisher ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Welcome, Visitors … We welcome every worshiper present and invite everyone to discover the joy of God’s unending love. If you would like to join our membership, fill in one of the cards in the pew holders and drop it in the offering plate or hand it to the pastor. Please join us for the reception in the Chapel following the worship service. Sermon Synopsis … Among typical reactions to the miracles of Jesus, a reader/hearer of scripture might respond with a joy-filled “Wow!” or possibly even a puzzled-unsure “What?” or “Huh?” Jesus’ introduction miracle of turning water into wine is one of those “What?” miracles. My prayer and hope is that any existing “What?” reaction would become a response of a joy-filled “Wow!” Prayer List Dianne Carlill, in treatment for acute myelogenous leukemia. Tom Emmerson, art professor at Walla Walla University, in treatment for a brain tumor wrapped around his optic nerve. Professor Emmerson is the artist who drew the calligraphy on this bulletin stock. Susan Harvey, dealing with health issues. Werner Seidel, father of Kevin, diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia. Parent requesting prayers for a mentally ill child. As a courtesy to others, please silence your cell phones, pagers, and watch alarms. Thank you for your reverence of the worship service. Children’s Sabbath School Pick-up … Because we are interested in our children’s safety, we are asking that all parents pick up their children from Sabbath School promptly at 10:50. This requirement is for all children in the toddlers through primary age groups. Live Streaming … Green Lake Church live streams its worship service. The video of the sermon is archived. These services can be accessed through our web site, greenlakesda.org. To watch the worship service, click on the first green banner shown at the top of the website home page, “Tune in to our Live Stream.” Then click on the first entry below the banner (the link to click lists the date, sermon title, and preacher). Hands Across the Waters … Donations currently go the Bamboo School and Orphanage in Thailand in order to purchase a natural world and Bible-based DVD/CD collection and a dining room with tables and chairs. Concert This Afternoon … The Glendale Adventist Academy chorale (28member mixed chorus) and concert band (81 members) are performing at 5:00 this afternoon at the Bellevue Seventh-day Adventist Church, 15 140th Avenue NE, Bellevue. Softball Practice … Tomorrow at 5:00. Green Lake #6 off Stone Way about 54th. Neighborhood Meal … On the fourth Sunday evening of each month through November, Green Lake Church is providing a meal for approximately 60 homeless individuals at the George Center for Community in Lake City. If you would like to join this group, contact Ellen Park (ellenmpark@gmail.com) or Elyse Lambeth (lyseeb@hotmail.com). International Sabbath is coming May 9. Plan to worship “Around the Table” dressed in clothing that reflects an ethnic/cultural heritage, and bring a platter of “international” food to share after the service—finger food ideal. If you would like to help or participate, contact Darchelle (darchellew@gmail.com) or Dana at (h2osrd5@gmail.com). Strike Up the Band! Attention, all brass, woodwind, and percussion instrumentalists of Green Lake Church, let’s put together a BAND! The 4th of July is on Sabbath this year, and what better way to celebrate our freedom than with patriotic music played by our own Green Lake BRASS BAND? There are quite a few talented wind ensemble musicians in the congregation, so let’s get together to decide on repertoire, rehearsal times, and more. If you’d like to participate, please contact either Dick Wonderly at rkwonderly@comcast.net or Craig Mohr at craigmohr65@gmail.com and let them know you’re interested. Spring Has Sprung! Do you love flowers? Do you love to garden? If so, Green Lake Church could use your help. Each week we’d like to see the window sills of the sanctuary filled with flowers, even just modest, simple arrangements. Perhaps you have something from your own garden, or perhaps you would like to bring items from your favorite florist. We will provide vases. If interested, contact the Worship Planning committee: Sellyna Ehlers (sellynae@gmail.com) or Kim Goerlitz (kimgoerlitz@gmail.com). Prayer Team … The prayer team meets on the first and third Sabbaths in the parents’ room after the worship service. Everyone is welcome. There are three boxes in the narthex for prayer requests, answers, and silent prayers. During the week, please feel free to contact Naomi Odell Lundstrom (nvodell@yahoo.com or 507-3583341). All prayer requests are confidential except when specifically asked to share. Camp Meeting Lodging … Washington Conference would particularly like to invite you to camp meeting June 12-20. We know it's a bit earlier than normal, and want to give you ample time to make arrangements to attend. Make your lodging arrangements online or call Donna Dickerson at (253) 681-6008. Keep track of camp meeting plans and registration options at washingtonconference.org. Housing … Tyler Henry is looking for a new place to live in Seattle and furniture storage space for the summer. Creative housing is a possibility (Airstream trailer or vanagon). Any ideas or connections you can send his way would be appreciated. Contact him at tyhenry@gmail.com. Temporary Housing Needed … A room or apartment to rent is desired beginning May 14 for four to six weeks by a brother and sister who will be in Seattle for a kidney transplant at Swedish Hospital. They are Seventh-day Adventists from Brookings, Oregon, in their mid-forties. She is a nurse and his caregiver during his surgery and recuperation.
