*Call to Worship from Psalm 140
Rescue me, Lord, from evildoers;
protect me from the violent,
who devise evil plans in their hearts
and stir up war every day.
They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent’s;
the poison of vipers is on their lips.
I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor
and upholds the cause of the needy.
Surely the righteous will praise your name,
and the upright will live in your presence.
*Invocation and *Lord’s Prayer: Matthew 6:10-14
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those
who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil
for Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever, AMEN.

NT Reading: Revelation 6:1, 9-11
I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals…9 When he
opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been
slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and
true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” 11
Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a
little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers
and sisters, were killed just as they had been.
Confession of Sin, from Romans 5:8 and Hebrews 4:16
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence,
So that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Silent confession of Sin
Pastoral Prayer of Praise, Thanksgiving and Requests
Offering Gifts of Money
*Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him all creatures here below;
Praise him above ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. AMEN.
*Prayer to Dedicate Gifts and Money
Sermon Text: Psalm 13
1 How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide
your face from me?
2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have
sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
3 Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will
sleep in death, 4 and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my
foes will rejoice when I fall.
5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.
Prayer for Illumination
Sermon: May He Who Speaks First Get the Last Word

When Trials Come
*Benediction, from Numbers 6
“The LORD bless you and keep you;
25 the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
26 the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Our next round would involve staffing, outreach (Missions) and other areas not already
cut. We would make such cuts in early April. We’re improving our ability to receive
securities and appreciated assets, and to educate the congregation and neighbors about
personal budgeting and giving. Team meets Mon, May 11.
Message from Matt Sawyer: "Thank you for your support in my service-learning trip to

experienced this. More details to come once I return home from college for the summer."
