...now what?
Y or N - Have you ever felt like a failure?
I am the ________, you are the branches. He who _____________ in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit;
for apart from Me you can do ______________ (John 15:5)
John 21:1-13
T or F - Peter might have felt like a failure (Luke 5:1-5; Matthew 14:28-30, 26:35)
It’s important to know that in spite of our _____________, we are not ________________.
John 21:15-17
T or F - In spite of past failures, Jesus expects us to bear fruit.
Our Elders have designated that our Spring quarter (March-May) will be Bible Class Emphasis Quarter. During that quarter they
have decided that we will be flipping our normal routine on Sunday morning. Our worship hour at 9:30 and then our Bible classes
will begin following its conclusion. Along with our normal Bible classes curriculum for the children we will be having several new
classes beginning in March. Dave Lasseter will be teaching a series, to the teenagers, entitled Hear God. They will looking at the
things of this world that are drowning out their willingness and ability to listen to God.
Sunday Morning
David Wallace and John Wallace will be teaching in the auditorium on Jesus (and other New Testament teachings)
Chris Mikle will be teaching in the daycare room on Is your God real? Defending His existence
Blake Jones will be teaching in the fellowship hall classroom on Building a Stronger Marriage
Last week we had over 77% stay following worship and attend Bible class….that’s wonderful! Our Bible classes are going to be great; but your
presence, participation, and prayers will make them so much better!

I’m very excited about the opportunity to attend GO! this year! GO! is a summer camp unlike any
other. The camp is designed for youth groups and individuals, the week will combine interactive
labs, sessions and projects with fun and more. It'll be a chance to connect with other young
people from across the world and together discover what a life of meaningful service can be.
The week is packed with ideas and practical how-to labs. Students will hear from world-changers
and innovative leaders. They'll be connected to and work with other young people who want to
live for God. Through service opportunities, meaningful worship and group discussion they'll
grow deeper in their faith and leave ready to put it into action. GO! Is located on the campus of
Freed-Hardeman University, so your teenagers will also have the chance to see what a Christian
college is like! The cost of this camp is $100 for the week, but I believe it will be well worth the price! If there is anyone
who would like to sponsor a child to go who can’t afford the price, please let Dave know. For more info on the camp, visit
www.fhu.edu/go. GO! Camp is for grades 7th—12th grades and the last day for registration is April 29th, so make sure
you sign up today!
I don’t want to leave our younger campers out! Maywood is for ages 8 - 18. The cost
for Maywood will be $75 this year. This is a great camp that our younger campers
love, so make sure you sign them up on the teen room bulletin board! Note– The
Elders have always wanted to help with the cost of camp and for several years have
made sure at least half the cost is taken care of for the parents. Because the
teenagers (7th-12th) have two camps they can attend this year, we ask if they want to attend both
Maywood & GO!, that Maywood would be paid in full ($150). If only attending Maywood, the cost is still
only $75. Thank you for understanding!

This past Sunday we rejoiced as two precious souls responded to the
Lord’s invitation. Glenda Robertson came forward expressing her
desire to be a part of our family here at Rainbow. Glenda has been
living in Oxford attending the Betta-View Hill congregation, but recently moved to Gadsden. We welcome
Glenda and we will try to have a picture of her in next week’s Beacon. Ken Hollen also came forward sharing
that even though he had been baptized several months ago, he had never come forward in front of the
church. We love and appreciate Ken’s zeal for the Lord. We thank God for His continual encouragement of
growth...to God be all the glory!
Some of our wonderful teenagers in Gatlinburg, TN! L-R,
Shelby Sanders, Hannah Edmonson, Christian Hammett,
Cade Cleveland, Sarah Cook, Walker Suther, Sam
Wallen, Trey Brinkley, Stephanie Spitz-Keener, Clay
Mikle, Korie Cranford, Dallas Dean & William Birchmore.
Last Saturday we
had a great Easter
Egg Hunt! All the
kids seemed to
have a wonderful
time. Our deepest
thanks to all who
planned
and
participated in this
afternoon of fun.
We
especially
want
to
thank
Craig and Cindy King for opening up their home and
hosting this annual event. If you’ll go to our Facebook page
you can see many more great pictures from this event.
Each month our Elders take a turn sharing the responsibility of “Elder of the Month”. During that month,
that Elder is the contact person for our flock for any needs that they might have. During the month of
March, David Wallace is the “Elder of the Month” you can reach him at 256-390-2273 (James 5:14)
