I also short-staffed. appreciate the effort staff members made to attend the Parade, including Mrs Layt who was there to cheer us on at the end. The school’s Dress Code which was approved by the P&C clearly states that children should wear black or white shoes and either the school jacket or a plain blue jacket. If girls want to wear leggings or tights these should also be plain blue. All students are expected to wear the correct uniform every day. The Uniform Shop is open on Thursday mornings and stocks second-hand uniform items as well as brand new ones. Parents should consider purchasing black shoes when new shoes are required. Sometimes families donate items of clothing and these can also be made available to those who are under financial stress. The CLSS Student Dress Code is included with this Newsletter for your perusal. Please ensure that your child’s name is clearly marked on all clothing items. SCHOOL PHOTOS Parents are reminded that the School Photos will be taken tomorrow and Wednesday. Students should wear their correct blue uniforms with shoes and white socks. Year 6 students have been asked to wear their Senior Red shirts for the photos. (Spares will be provided for the photo if a student doesn’t have one) EISTEDDFOD We welcome back Mrs Layt just in time to assist with students participating in the Eisteddfod. Today our Strings Ensemble competed and came first! Tomorrow will be our Concert Band and Percussion students. Camp Australia Coordinator Mobile: 0421078743 – Wendy Before and After School Care Hello everyone and welcome back to another exciting and fun filled school term … let me start by saying welcome back to all of our returning students and welcome to new our new child “Anthony” who joins us from Prep … we hope that your time with Camp Australia is fun and filled with loads of exciting times. This term will see us expanding on our creative sides as we explore various craft ideas and techniques. We will be adding loads of new craft mediums to our experiences so that children gain a wider variety and understanding of craft resources. Miss Wendy has brought in some exciting new wooden toys for us to play with and brought us some wooden nuts and bolts to play with and create as well – we were really excited to be playing with these new toys … even the girls got excited :) This week will be a little sad for us here at Camp Australia Crescent Lagoon as one of our much loved staff members Miss Shaz is moving on with greater things. Miss Shaz has been with CA for almost 2 years now and is with sadness that today we will be saying farewell. Miss Shaz takes with her lots of happy memories and special friendships formed not only with the kids of CA but with their families and with the staff here too … we will certainly miss her but we do wish her all the success in the world as she makes this transition with her career and her studies. What have our kids been doing Our children have just finished another successful 2 weeks of holiday club where we explored lots of super hero creations including a HULK money box which the boys totally loved and a stuffed superhero teddy bear which the girls were very keen on creating and decorating. We also enjoyed our Forensic Science incursion which saw Matt from our inclusion team come in and teach us all about how forensic science helps the Police catch the “bad people” … children really enjoyed this very hands on experience and working with their friends in teams to solve the crime in front of them. The staff really enjoyed this experience too watching the kids working together and engaging in meaning conclusions. We will also be continuing on our Buddy Bear story book this term as the children all seemed to enjoy taking our little purple friend home for the night and sharing in their experiences with the group. It also gave them a sense of responsibility in looking after the bear for the night and sometimes for the weekend too. We love to sit down and look through the adventures of our Buddy Bear. Whats coming up Term 2 will see the introduction of another great Buddy Bear initiative so stay tuned and watch this space to see what that is going to be … we don't want to be giving away too many secrets just yet :) Also in our parent area you will see some of the larger changes for our parents … Miss Penny has joined our team with her very large notice board. This notice board replaces the old cork board notice board that we had and provides plenty of space for us to have all the information that parents and the Department require not to mention it makes it look a whole lot nicer.
