What is the Microsoft Software & Systems
Academy (MSSA)?
The Microsoft Software & Systems Academy is
designed to help America’s heroes secure their future
by transitioning to high-skilled technology careers
after their service to our country.
MSSA is a full-time, 16 week education training
course. Participants are assigned to MSSA as their
place of duty for the duration of the 16-week course.
Coursework includes technical training, certification
testing, practical exercises and mentoring, and is
covered under the Veterans Affairs GI Bill.
The Microsoft Software & Systems Academy is a new,
unique program to help meet the economy’s urgent
need for skilled IT professionals by tapping into the
experiences and talent of military veterans.
Servicemembers who successfully complete the
program receive interviews for potential jobs at
Microsoft.

Application Requirements









Active duty status with a Separation or
Retirement date at least 1 month after the class
end date. See class dates at launchcg.com/mssa
Command authorization
Current honorable service status
Copy of service record
Resume
High school diploma or GED
Successful completion of HS Algebra and/or a
CLEP/Compass Algebra score of 31 or higher
Computer skills
Experience or interest in software or application
development
Prep Work:
Applicants should consider studying prior to taking
the Microsoft Technical Association (MTA) Exam.

Certification Training
Microsoft Certification Testing is built into the MSSA
curriculum to ensure successful acquisition of
necessary skills. To qualify for an interview,
applicants must first successfully complete and pass
the Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA) Exam which
covers Database Fundamentals, Software
Development and Software Testing.
