Dear Friends:
Last Tuesday the Building & Maintenance Committee met
with the various companies regarding the solar project for
our parish. I am very happy to announce it is a go. Within
the next couple of weeks you will see activity on the property
in preparation for the solar array. This is a great time for our
parish and our thanks must be given to our wonderful
Building & Maintenance Committee led by Doug Heiss, along
with Joe DeLuca, Bill Price, Tom Von Holtum, Tom Purul, Ken
Yates, and Joe Howe who sits on the committee as the
finance representative for the parish. Thanks also to Matt
McCrink for his assistance as our parish legal representative.
We have been talking about this project for over three years
and have gone over many hills and down into many valleys
to get where we are today. Our parish is very grateful to all
of them but especially Doug Heiss and Joe Deluca who
pursued this with great leadership and persistence. Through
this solar project our parish will be saving a substantial
amount of money each year on our electrical bills. To all the
members of the committee my sincere thanks for the
dedication, time and patience that you devoted to this
project.
Please watch for the sign ups for our parish Pine Barrens
Festival. Consider signing up early so that the planning will
go smoothly. Also watch for the Wednesday and Saturday
set up times, this is very important. We need as many people
as possible especially the younger men and women of the
parish to assist. Watch the bulletin for more information.
Don’t forget to stop in the atrium and visit the display for
Vacation Bible School. This year’s theme is SKY. Take a
moment after mass and review the display to see how you
can help.
In our own prayer life, we may use the Our Father, the Hail
Mary, or some other familiar prayers addressed to the saints.
We may also just talk to God, pouring out our hearts silently
in praise, thanksgiving, or petition. But we don’t usually
think about Jesus praying for us. But that is what this
weekend’s Gospel is, a prayer of Jesus for all of those who
believe in him. He asks his Father to protect us and to fill us
with his joy. How do you experience the joy for which Jesus
prays in your own life?
Next week is Pentecost Sunday it is the birthday of the
Church, DON’T FORGET TO WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Have a wonderful week!
Fr. Andrew

OUTREACH
Your continued support of our efforts to provide assistance to those in
our community is most appreciated. It provides us with the means of
helping many families during these challenging economic times.
Donations to the Poor Boxes located through out the church are used to
assist people in need with expenses such as housing, medical and utility
bills. All funds go directly to support this effort. Anyone in need of
assistance should call our confidential hot line 268-0005.
Our Food Pantry services approximately 80 families on a monthly basis.
The pantry is opened on Tuesday & Thursday of each week from 10:00
to 12:00 noon. If you plant a vegetable garden this year and you find an
abundance to share, the food pantry would greatly accept a portion of
your harvest. It can be donated after all masses on the weekend or on
the days that the food pantry is opened.
"REMBER THOSE IN NEED" The item the pantry is low on this
week is:
CANNED MEATS: TUNA FISH, RAVIOLI, SPAGHETTI &
MEATBALLS, CHILI, STEW
Super Market Certificates are available after all masses at a table set
up in the ATRIUM. The super markets give us 5% of all the gift cards
sold. You may also donate certificates and put them in the Poor Boxes.
We use them to provide dairy and meat products to those who use our
Food Pantry. BREAD ARE GIVEN CARDS are also available.
They are used for special occasions to celebrate joy or to provide
comfort those in need. Names of those remembered are kept in a
special book and prayed for at our St. Vincent de Paul meetings
Thank you Holy Eucharist Parishioners for your kindness and
generosity with all your donations. Without your continued support, we
would not be able to “ HELP US HELP OTHERS".
The St. Vincent de Paul Society is in need of a
volunteer to sell Supermarket Certificates once per
month at the 5:00 pm Mass. If interested, please call
268-0005 and leave a message for Karen.
