Congratulations to All!
Class of June 2007
St. Cyril of Jerusalem School
Fed By The Lord
Jesus’ words “This is my body” and “This cup is the new
covenant in my blood” were only part of his table blessing.
Jesus twice said: “Do this in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:24, 25).
This is the good news of today’s solemnity. Like the five
thousand hungry souls, we are fed by our Lord. This is not
food that satisfies for only a short time, until the next meal. It
is food that lasts and changes us. It is food for sharing in
much the same way as Melchizedek did when he brought
bread and wine to the returning Abraham.
As children of God’s reign, we are blessed to be able to
receive and share God’s gift. And we do so in the way most
appropriate to our state in life—as parents, children, husbands,
wives, or religious.

Missionary Cooperation Plan
This weekend, June 9-10, our parish is asked to participate
in the “Missionary Cooperation Plan” appeal. Each year the
Archdiocese of LA invites missionaries to come and share
with us the work of the Gospel being accomplished in the Missions. Most Reverend Thomas K. Mensah, Catholic Bishop
of Obusasi, Ghana, West Africa, will speak at all Masses.
This special appeal specifically supports the diocese or religious community making the appeal at our parish. The Missions depend upon your generous support, please be as generous as you can. Thank you.
Rest in Peace: With confidence, O Lord, we ask that eternal
rest be granted to Rose Damiano. Let the perpetual light
shine upon her May her soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Religious Education
RCIA: The next RCIA meeting will be on Thursday, June 14 at 7:30

Catechists Needed: Is the Lord calling you to help with the Catholic
Christian formation of our children? All new and returning catechists
will have an opportunity to update themselves with training sessions
in early September. The focus at these sessions will be on basic theological themes. Classes for children are held on Tuesdays from 3:30
p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
CCD Registration: Classes resume on Monday, September 10 for
grades 7-9 and on Tuesday, September 11 for Kindergarten and
grades 1-6 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Remember that Sacramental
preparation requires TWO consecutive years of instruction.

St. Cyril School Mural
“Church, School, Community”
Everyone is encouraged to view the St. Cyril School mural in progress which was painted by students from grade 5 through 8. It was
officially unveiled Tuesday morning, May 29 at the school assembly.
Its size is currently eight (8) feet by twenty-four (24) feet; when completed next year it will extend to eight feet by forty (40) feet! The
theme of the mural is as follows: It starts with Jesus releasing the
doves of peace into the community and our school. The “Rosary,”
incorporated into the theme, wraps around and connects the entire
mural. The “decades” are represented with symbols of music, reading, history, sports, science, art and math. Next years final addition
to the mural will include the church, grotto, etc. Take a moment to
view this wonderful tribute to our Parish Community!
