>> From the Grants Team
Well the year is certainly flying by with only three months until Christmas. The grants team have been
focussed on the latest round of funding that closed on the 26th of September and applications are
coming through thick and fast.
This year we made the decision to move our October round of grants to September as it resulted in us
having the ability to notify applicants of the outcome at the end of November, rather than having to
rush outcomes and funding agreements to be prepared and sent out before Christmas.
If your organisation has submitted an application through one of the following programs, you may find
the following dates and timeframes useful.
Programs that closed in September (Friday the 26th):
» Regional Arts Development Fund (R.A.D.F)
» Community Heritage Grants Program
» Festivals and Events Program
» Partnerships & Sponsorships Program

>> Program in focus > Mayor’s Community Assistance Fund (running all year round while funding is
available)
The Mayor’s Community Assistance Fund (MCAF) is an annual amount allocated in council’s budget to
enable the Mayor to respond to requests for financial assistance from local community organisations.
A small level of funding is available for local not-for-profit community organisations who are
undertaking an activity that serves a community purpose.
Program Aims >>
» Support local fundraising events, activities and initiatives;
» Recognise the achievements of those in the local community through donations, prizes and
awards;
» Encourage Townsville residents to engage in and provide for the Townsville community;
» Provide support for Townsville based charitable institutions and not-for-profit community
organisations
Eligibility >>
Applicants must be:
» Based within the boundaries of the Townsville City Council Local Government Area; and
» Be a community or not-for-profit organisation (in accordance with the Local Government
Regulation 2012)
Please note that funding for individuals is not available through this program.
Further Information: Prior to applying through this program, please be sure to read the Information
Sheet and Application Form that can be downloaded from council’s website.

Detailed (whole of) project budget
From time to time we get some really fantastic outcome reports. These include a robust completion of
the form that is sent to all successful applicants, but also includes strong support documentation such
as photos or marketing collateral (with council’s logo featured) from the event/project funded (or
some activities if operational funding is provided), audited financial statements (which is a formal
requirement under the grant contract) and also any further statistical or summary-like information.
An air-tight budget detailing income and expenditure for the entire project (not just pertaining to
council’s contribution) is also a must.

A great outcome report gives us a clear understanding of where council funds were able to be used
and also demonstrates any key successes or findings from the project which can influence results for
any further applications.
If you ever have any doubt about the quality of your outcome report, please give a grants officer a call
or send us an email.
>> Non-TCC Funding Opportunities – What other funding is out there?
