TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH
OCTOBER 2014
senior warden letter
Dear Trinity friends,
Fall has arrived and we are working on projects
both around the parish---painting, garden work, roof
issues, and for the parish---working on our
transition project to call a new rector.
We will have Father Kevin Schmidt celebrating
Eucharist with us for the first two Sundays in
October---I know everyone will enjoy having him
back; and on Sunday, Oct. 19, Father Evan Ash will
return as our long-term supply. It will be a pleasure
to have Father Evan and Lynn back with us again.
Sophia center retreats
The Sophia Center will be offering the following
retreats during the month of October. For more
information, call 913-360-6151, see the parish
bulletin board or visit <sophiaspiritualitycenter.org>

The Vestry’s financial working group has made
great progress in reviewing our practices and
procedures, our projected income, our parish needs,
and future prospects, with several recommendations
to the Vestry for consideration. We will have more
to report after our October Vestry meeting.
•
Fred Gage has brought in an insurance consultant to
help us evaluate our insurance coverage needs and
will have a report for us.
•
Some of you may have noticed that the painting in
the parish hall and office could use a second coat---that is already planned; John Rasmussen will take
care of that in the next week or two.
Our technology gift is nearly ready to use, and just
in the nick of time! It will be invaluable to us in our
consultations with Dave Seifert, the Diocesan
Missioner for Transitions, and with Rector
candidates when we get to that point in our search
process.
Our next Vestry meeting is Tuesday, October 21, at
6:00 p.m. in the parish hall. All parish members are
welcome!
Faithfully,
Kate Werring
Senior Warden

Scripture Thought for the Month: Do not worry
about anything, but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be
made known to God. And the peace of God, which
surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts
and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
NOTE: There will be no Evening Prayer on Oct. 8.
