Diocesan Road Show
Thanks to all of you who came along to hear from the Bishop of Truro and his staff presenting
materials on what has been happening around the diocese over the last year and learning about how a
variety of projects are progressing. "Doing Church differently" seemed to be the order of the day! In
the diocesan presentations there were lots of photos and clips of things that have been happening in
the Penlee Cluster...well done everyone. A huge thanks too to Chris Osborne our IT worker who had
put together a very interesting presentation about how we have used some of the money from the
Bishop's Den to "Do church differently. I hope that you will all be able to see it within the next few
weeks in your local churches. Thanks also to Margaret, Frana, Kay and Fr John who joined us to help
welcome people and provide refreshments.
Two challenges from the road show:
1. The diocese has made a short video on "what does Church mean to
me"...interesting. I think that we should now make one to go on our web site
on "What does the Christian faith mean to me?" So would you like to start
thinking about what you might say in response to this question in just 2 or 3
sentences? Please talk to Chris, Sue or the clergy about your thoughts..or if
you think that the question should be a different one.
2. Bishop Tim would like each of us to think about inviting someone to worship or a Church event on or
around Advent Sunday...Preparing for Christmas. Please could you think about this...who it might be
and what you would like to invite someone to?
Doing Church differently....and the same!
Please note that in the Penlee Cluster we are equally committed to offering worship opportunities for
people in loved, valued and traditional ways too. Prayer must be at the heart of what we do. This
December we have a Quiet Day on Sat 6th December. We are also holding a very traditional
candlelight 9 lessons and carols at St John's on 12th December as part of the Friends of Penlee
Cluster.

The Quiet Garden at Paul
The garden is now entering a second phase of development with the addition of four boards featuring
the lives of saints, and the building of a labyrinth.
