Accellos currently has a position open for an enthusiastic Software Engineer. As a member of the research
and development team, this position participates in all required phases of full lifecycle product development
and provides support and maintenance for the products and services managed by the Accellos development
team. Participation encompasses the review, analysis and modification of computer applications software or
systems including construction, testing, debugging, documenting, delivery and installation to support
Accellos deliverables. A Software Engineer provides input, prepares and analyzes technical documents such
as software requirements specifications, user-interface specifications, software design specifications, quality
plans, test plans, project plans and release notes. This position is familiar with standard concepts, practices,
and procedures within a particular field. May require a bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years related experience or
equivalent combination of education and experience. May also require 1-3 years’ experience in commercial
software development. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain
degree of creativity and latitude is required. Must be self-motivated and works under immediate supervision
while performing development responsibilities.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Working knowledge of:
o Computer languages { T-SQL, C++, C#, VB.Net, XQuery}
o Web Service Technologies {XML, WCF, SOAP, REST, JSON}
o Computer program design methods and techniques
o Database design
o Windows Services, Web Services
o SQL Server Reporting Services
o Maintaining and debugging “in production” software systems
o Writing program documentation
o Standard development tools
Demonstrated analysis and troubleshooting skills
Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally
with a diverse group of clients and staff
Ability to:
o transform end user requirements into software designs
o solve problems quickly and completely and to think creatively
o work productively in a team environment and adhere to established development process
and programming discipline
o learn quickly a large body of existing code
o work on numerous concurrent tasks
Willingness and ability to adapt to new technologies
Good organizational skills with the ability to track and prioritize numerous tasks
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four year college or university; or one to two years related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience working with cross functional teams such as marketing, engineering, and QA
Experience developing in one or more programming languages and environments
0-3 years experience in commercial software development for the Microsoft Windows platform
Equipment and Applications
