ABOUT UCISTEM
UChicago Careers in Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Math Program (UCISTEM)
is a pre-professional program that supplements
UChicago’s liberal arts curriculum with the goal
of helping students explore, prepare for and
obtain careers or graduate school placements
in the STEM fields using the experiential
education method. UCISTEM aims to support
students on their journey towards impacting
the world by offering unparalleled research and
internship experiences and various means of
career exploration.
ABOUT PHOENIX BIOLOGY
Phoenix Biology is the University of Chicago’s
premier biological sciences organization. For
the past 17 years, Phoenix Biology has offered
a wide range of events and programs to help
students explore the many areas of biology,
engage and interact with fellow students who
share interests in biology, and enrich themselves
academically and professionally so that they
can succeed in their pursuits.
Undergraduate Research Symposium
This symposium highlights the research endeavors of
University of Chicago’s Undergraduate Population. We
highly encourage all faculty, staff and students to attend.
The symposium is free and open to the public; hors d’oeuvres
and refreshments will be served.
Lecture
As Keynote Lecture speaker, Dr. Steven Sibener will be
presenting the University’s latest and most advanced discoveries
in nanotechnology to create new materials and processes for
making clean, fresh drinking water more plentiful and less
expensive by 2020, as well as technologies for using water more
effectively in industry and agriculture. Question and Answer
session to follow.
