The Community Therapies Team is part of the integrated
working partnership between Kirklees Council and the South
West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The team
delivers health and social care support and various nursing,
social work, occupational therapy and medical interventions to
people with complex and severe mental health problems.
As Business Support Officer you will provide specialist
administrative support for the team which comprises of 30 staff
made up of Mental Health professionals, ie Community
Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers
and Support Workers.
Working in an open plan office you will be working with a team
of administrators to be the first point of call for phone enquiries,
which due to the nature of the service may include service
users with mental health problems.
You will be required to arrange meetings and to regularly take
minutes for Panel meetings and any other meetings as
required.
Main duties:
The service will offer a quick response which will lead to people
being returned home with support tailored to their needs and
where necessary, alternative accommodation being offered
rather than an acute hospital bed. You will be working with
people who attend the Accident and Emergency department or
Medical Assessment Unit who after medical assessment do not
need admittance but there are significant obstacles for their
return home.
We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and confident people
who have some experience of working in a caring environment
with vulnerable people. Your role will be to carry out a low level
assessment of patients and you will therefore need an
understanding of the needs of vulnerable people. You may also
be required to provide equipment such as assistive technology
and or enablement services to assist them to return home. You
will be responsible for the installation/delivery of the equipment
and possible transportation of the patient if appropriate.

The Investment and Regeneration Service is tasked with
making the Kirklees economy more resilient and better able to
adapt to economic and environmental pressures and
challenges. It does this by developing and delivering integrated
strategic plans and services to stimulate economic and
environmental activity. It also carries out regulatory functions
and aims to create fair conditions for businesses to operate.
The service's activity is focussed on growing the number of jobs

Environment and Funding (REF) develop a range of

As a Senior Development Officer, you will be responsible for
delivering, on time and to budget, projects that are designed to
achieve service, corporate and strategic priorities, as outlined in
the Economic Strategy. Projects may arise from private sector
and/or public sector led initiatives and are likely to be
commissioned by other Council Services and therefore cover a
wide range of activities.
You will be involved in the creation of new partnership and
procurement opportunities, making effective use of appropriate
funding opportunities as they evolve, and devising and
managing appropriately structured projects, partnerships and
procurement strategies to ensure effective project delivery.
A key part of this role is building and maintaining positive
working relationships with the private sector, community
organisations, Elected Members, other Council Services and

context in which these partners operate.

Housing Options and Support is responsible for advising
customers about all appropriate housing and housing related
options and for carrying out assessments of homeless families
and individuals. You will work as part of the Young People and
Support Team, undertaking social care assessments and the
provision of services for 16/17 year old young people in housing
need in order to prevent homelessness.
You will need to have experience of working with
children/young people and their carers with the ability to identify
the needs of individuals and formulate assessments. You
should also be able to work effectively in a variety of settings
according to the client's and service's needs.
Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be
extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not

We are looking to appoint to this job as part of succession
planning. The successful applicant will work alongside both
Senior Electoral Officers over the next 18 month period,
working in support of the two major scheduled elections in 2015
and 2016 and electoral registration activities. The successful
candidate will take over full responsibility for the lead area of
Absent Voting at the time when the existing job holder retires.
Electoral Services is responsible for the management of all
Parliamentary, European Parliamentary and local elections and
referendums within the local authority area, as well as
administering the electoral registration process.
The work of the team includes planning, developing and
implementing statutory procedures surrounding the registration
of electors and absent voters along with the administration of
free and fair elections and referendums in accordance with
legislation.
The electoral registration process is undergoing a major
transformation, we are developing new processes and joint
working initiatives with a number of other council services and
we are starting our preparation for the next combined elections
(UK Parliamentary, District and Parish).
You will have an appetite for a range of challenging projects
and an interest in elections and a willingness and aptitude to
learn.
The technical responsibilities of this role fall into two main areas
'Absent Voting' and 'Information Technology' you will be
expected to be able to work across both areas. You will also be
responsible for leading and directing a small team of staff,
advising staff on the more complex areas of electoral
administration.

The Commissioning and Health Partnerships Service
commission quality adult social care services that meet people
and their carers' needs. The Service is responsible for strategic
planning, joint commissioning, contract management, business
development and performance monitoring as well as a number
of specialist support functions.
Working as part of a team you will provide specialist business
and administrative support to officers within the Safeguarding
Adults Partnership team, particularly with regard to compliance
with the governance arrangements around safeguarding adults,
safeguarding adults reviews and the Mental Capacity Act Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard process; frequently within tight
statutory timescales.
The work is fast paced and can be of a nature that is sensitive
and confidential with subjects that can be distressing. The role
involves supporting the Safeguarding Board with complex
meetings and projects, annual reports and safeguarding adults
reviews.
The work involves a lot of complex communication and
negotiation with internal and external organisations to ensure
work is completed following the tight statutory timescales.
You should have business administration skills to NVQ Level 4
or able to demonstrate equivalent skills, with the ability to
