Notices from SS Peter & Paul
16th November 2014
CONGRATULATIONS to choristers:
A number of our choristers have recently taken Royal School of Church Music
external exams, which involved a lot of extra work and training. All of our candidates
were successful, so we congratulate the following:
Deans’ Chorister Award: James Rogers, Arthur, Alice and Caroline Easey, Georgie
Stapeley, Zoe Anusi, Scarlett Rayney and Charlotte Erics.
Bishops’ Chorister Award: Monty Kerr & Melech Henderson
We are presently looking to recruit 3 more boy choristers in order to maintain our
usual number of 20 boys through the coming year. If anyone knows boys aged 7 –
10 who may be inetersted, please contact Michael Emerson: 020 8529 6092 –

Fr John
It was with shock and sadness that we heard last Sunday of Fr. John’s
resignation. He is currently on sick leave so all church business should be
directed to Fr Hall, Mother Tina or the Churchwardens.
The Persecuted Church
There is unprecedented persecution of Christians in many places. We will have a
special service with prayer for them at the Old Church, 3.30pm, Sunday 23 rd
November.
Christmas Bazaar- 29th November 10am
Please come and support us.
We are in need of grand prizes for the grand raffle.
If you have anything useful for the bazaar please bring them to the church Friday
28th November.
Parish Office
Dear All, the Parish Office is open for business on Monday and Wednesday from 911 am. Any member of the Parish is welcome to use the resource for anything
related to Parish life, and I will help as much as I can. However, since I have a
shocking memory, please don't ask me to do things when you see me outside of the
office as I'm almost guaranteed to forget! Many thanks. Claire
Sidespeople
Thank you to all those who have volunteered for sidespeople duty, a copy of the
new rota is in the porch.
Parish Magazine
Apologies, a mistake has been made in the collating, so that Fr Hall’s and Fr John’s
letters have been muddled (one page back to front).
Planned Giving Envelopes
If anyone would like to have planned giving envelopes instead of using the blue
ones, or set up a monthly standing order, then please contact the planned giving
organiser Ian Rampton on 020 8527 5009 or at Ian.rampton@yahoo.co.uk.
Blue gift-aid envelopes
Please ensure that you provide full name and address and
postcode legibly in the details when you donate by blue gift-aid
envelope. Failure to provide all these details will result in the
Church not being able to reclaim the tax on your
donations. Recently we have received a number of envelopes
where these details have not been completed and therefore
cannot submit a claim for the tax reclaim.
Raising Money for Parish Share

Gardening
We need a gardening team and we really need your help..
Please help keep our churchyard tidy. If everyone could spend just
1/2 hour a month, it would look great. If you feel you could help
please speak to Joyce Hilton.
Musicathon
Well done to Mike and all those who sang for this event, it was
fantastic. Thanks also goes to all those who have worked behind
the scenes to make the event a success.
Please remember to collect your sponsorship monies. We are now close to
the £8K goal.

The Food Bank
There is a steady flow of referrals to our local Food Bank. This has
now been operational for a year during which there have been 97
referrals, of which 53 involved families with children, ranging in age
from a few weeks to 17 years old.
Please continue your support. The donation box is at the back of church.
