LIVING YOUR FAITH
Archdiocesan Cemetery Information
With the selling of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia
cemeteries there has been some misunderstanding
about how and why we deal directly with the business
that now owns the cemeteries.
No one is required to do business with the cemeteries directly or with their representative. Your local funeral homes are able to assist you in accord with the
tradition of service that they have given over the years.
In some cases a particular funeral home may also be
very supportive of the parish by bulletin ads and/or
your yearly Parish Calendars.
In short, you are not required to obtain your cemetery plot or opening only through the particular cemetery of the Archdiocese. Talk to your local funeral director as you are making arrangements first.
Something Old… Something New
Shortly, you will be receiving information about an
increase offertory for our parish. Please receive this in
the positive manner in which it is presented. This is not
just because of rising costs that we all experience, but
to assist our parish as it faces the challenges and
needs of the future in accord with our mission statement.
Also there have been members of our Parish who
have asked about electronic giving. I am happy to announce that we will be soon offering this option to you.
More details and information will be available soon.

be placed soon. Please call the rectory for further information, or to place an order.
Those who have ordered bricks after the dedication of

♦ Health Ministry Corner February, 2015: Flu Season
We are at the peak of a very active flu season. This year’s
flu vaccine is said to be only 23% effective
against the strain of flu currently prevalent
in our area. If you have flu like symptoms,
please stay home and watch mass on
TV. If you have a fever of 100.4 or greater, please stay home from work or school
and do not return until you are without fever for 24 hours
without medication. Do not visit nursing homes or the elderly if you are feeling ill. Remember common sense things
we can all do to prevent spread of all respiratory disease:
 Clean your hands often with soap & water or alcohol
based hand sanitizer;
 Cover your mouth & nose with when coughing or
sneezing (or at least sneeze into your elbow rather
than your hand);
 Avoid close contact with those who are sick if possible;
 Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth and wash
hands after if you do;
 Practice good general health habits
Did you know?
Keeping the Question of God Alive
The key to keeping the question of God alive in the public
square is that each of us let it be known that we are Catholic and then live a life that bears witness to the goodness of
this fact.
Below are some simple ways to keep the
question of God alive in the public arena:
 In the workplace, keep on your desk a
holy card, Crucifix, or small statue that
gives witness to your Catholic faith.
Be prepared to answer questions
about what you believe and why the
image is on your desk.
 When family or friends ask “How was your weekend?”,
be sure to include in your response that you went to
Mass on Sunday and possibly throw in a remark about
how something in the homily helped you, or how praying at Mass helps you get ready for the week ahead.
 In conversations, be forthright about your involvement
in Church activities, groups, etc…
 Tell people you are praying for them, or for a particular
intention they have.
 Share stories about how your faith has directly impacted your life, decision-making, etc…
 Help people see and understand God’s action in their
lives by offering feedback like, “Wow, God really took
care of you!”, “Sounds like God put you in the right
place at the right time.”, “Seems like God definitely has
a plan for you.”, etc…
