The Rise of Security-as-a-Service
Monday, March 2, 9:00 a.m. — Salon V
Moderator: Erik Suppiger, Senior Networking and Security Analyst
The Art and Science of Software Sales Leadership
Monday, March 2, 11:00 a.m. — Salon V
Moderator: Pat Walravens, Senior Software Analyst
An open discussion with top executives from leading security-as-aservice companies related to the trend toward cloud security and its
implications for the broader security market. We will focus on questions
that serve to uncover significant investment themes: Why are enterprises
increasingly adopting security-as-a-service solutions? What is the
resistance to deploying security-as-a-service? Why are legacy vendors
struggling to compete with security-as-a-service offerings? What were
the most significant market trends and growth drivers in 2014? Why are
major breaches occurring more today than in the past, and how is the
security industry addressing the problem? Panelists include Jay Chaudhry,
CEO of Zscaler; Gary Steele, CEO of Proofpoint; and Philippe Courtot,
CEO of Qualys.
A frank discussion with a panel of successful sales leaders regarding
the art and science of leading a software sales organization. We will
focus on questions investors often ask about sales organizations: What
are the characteristics of a high-performing sales organization? What
drives upside? What are the pitfalls around scaling an organization?
How are quotas and plans set? When do organizations know whether
they are going to miss? When do reorganizations disrupt sales cycles?
What do sales leaders do when taking over a new sales organization?
Panelists include Jim Steele, President of Worldwide Sales for
InsideSales.com and former head of sales for salesforce.com; Bill
Binch, SVP Global SMB Sales for Marketo; and Doug Merritt, SVP Field
Operations for Splunk.

Bitcoin: A New and Compelling Asset Class for Institutional Investors

Moderator: Dan Gallancy, CEO, SolidX
Tech-Enabled Lenders Take Aim at a $12 Trillion Market
Monday, March 2, 3:00 p.m. — Salon V
Moderator: Matt Burton, CEO, Orchard Platform
In the last year, venture capitalists have invested over $400 million in bitcoinrelated enterprises, the U.S. Marshall Service sold some $50 million worth
of bitcoin at public auctions and, in the first quarter of 2015, Coinbase
launched the first U.S.-regulated bitcoin exchange for consumers, with
financial backing from NYSE and BBVA. Despite these significant milestones
and the myriad investment opportunities in consumer-focused bitcoin
companies, the bitcoin ecosystem remains largely disconnected from the
traditional institutional capital markets. Comprised of senior executives from
top bitcoin companies, the panel will discuss bitcoin as a new money-like
asset class with unique characteristics, why bitcoin is important, and how
institutional capital markets participants can become involved in the bitcoin
ecosystem. The panel will also discuss innovative opportunities from the socalled blockchain, the underlying technology behind bitcoin.
Lending Club and OnDeck Capital went public in late 2014, creating nearly
$10 billion of market capitalization. Hear from top executives leading
the next wave of tech-enabled lenders why there remain significant
untapped opportunities in both consumer and small business lending, how
technology is playing a crucial role in leveraging “social signals” to make
better underwriting decisions, and what 75 million Millenials are doing to
create a sea change in how financial services are consumed.
