North Junior High Announcements Wednesday February 25, 2015 Read Across America: Students: Bring your book! We will be celebrating Read Across America week on Monday, March 2nd. We will read for 30 minutes at the end of the day. Letter N: At North Junior High, the Letter “N” system was developed to recognize th th
th
students who excel academically, physically, and socially. Students in 7
, 8, and 9
grade are all eligible for the Letter “N” award, and the earlier you start working to gain points, the earlier you can advance up the rank—the Letter “N” may be earned by accumulating 90 points in a single year; the Bar “N” may be earned by accumulating 175 points in two or three years; the top award—the Star “N”—may be earned by accumulating 275 points in two or three years. Letter N awards are fantastic resume builders, and recipients of the award are recognized at the awards assembly at the end of each year. Points are earned by participating in student government, school clubs, school sports, school activities, and by maintaining a successful academic career while at North. If you are a student athlete, officer, and academic star, you should ask your math teacher for a Letter “N” form this week. If you do not have a math teacher, or if that teacher is out of forms, please see Mr. Porter this week in room 200. Once you have your form, please read it carefully and begin assembling the required documents and signatures from your teachers, coaches, and advisors. Letter N forms are due by May 4th, so get yours today! Summer Driver Education Program:
