Press Release Geneva, 13th March 2015 BORGWARD receives award for innovative exhibition stand concept BORGWARD receives an especially coveted award at its first appearance at the Geneva Motor Show for 55 years: As one of the three manufacturers awarded by the Club de Publicité et de Communication de Genève (CPG) for their stand concepts every year, BORGWARD received a special mentioning for its particularly innovative and welcoming presentation at the show. Amongst the criteria applied by the members of the expert jury, consisting of communication, advertising and marketing professionals, are originality, exhibition technology and content. “We are exceedingly proud that our return to Geneva has been crowned with this award,” says Karlheinz L. Knöss, Vice President and CEO, BORGWARD AG. “It was a great honour for us to announce BORGWARD’s comeback in Geneva, and we would like to express our sincere appreciation to the organisers for their tremendous support. This success underlines BORGWARD’s ability to demonstrate creativity and innovation in and beyond automotive construction. We are already looking forward to the IAA show in Frankfurt.” The imaginative booth concept proved popular not only with visitors to the Salon, but also with the Creativity Awards jury. Its members praised the clever mix of communication tools comprising tablets and a multimedia table, combined with a welcoming atmosphere that invited visitors to linger and browse. The booth’s rear wall in the form of an LED projection screen, depicting scenes from the past alongside graphic elements of the new BORGWARD corporate identity, further contributed to the brand’s successful presentation. The major attraction and focal point of the stand, however, was undoubtedly the gorgeous BORGWARD Isabella Coupé, which, together with contemporary multimedia animations, invited visitors to explore the brand’s heritage and future. Multimedia served not only as one key feature of the booth concept, but also sits high on BORGWARD’s agenda. By underscoring the ambition to bring to the market at least one innovation with every new model, as the brand did in the past, its premiere in Geneva gave an insight into future core competencies. BORGWARD is attaching high priority to e-mobility and connectivity. The Multiple Interaction concept developed by BORGWARD, as interpreted on its exhibition stand, has a major role to play in its cars as well. The first model is to be unveiled at the IAA in September. Ends. 1 Notes to editors: BORGWARD was founded in 1919 by engineer Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Borgward and produced a wide range of vehicles and engines under the brands BORGWARD, Goliath, and Lloyd. Between 1919 and 1961, the BORGWARD Group produced over one million vehicles, which made BORGWARD one of Germany’s largest car manufacturers of its time, employing over 20,000 people at its production facilities in Bremen and selling its products all over the world. Its most prestigious models were the BORGWARD Hansa 1500, BORGWARD P 100, and BORGWARD Isabella model, which sold more than 200,000 units globally. In 2005, Christian Borgward, grandson of founder Carl F. W. Borgward, and Industry Executive Karlheinz L. Knöss, decided to revive the brand. Ten years later, the legendary German brand participates at the Geneva International Motor Show for the first time since 1960.
