Name Change
Grace Notes
he Community Impact and Global
Connections leadership team has
decided to simplify and hopefully
clarify the name of their ministry area.
The new name for this area will be
Missional Engagement. This name expresses our goal of engaging the people of Ardmore Baptist Church in connecting others with Jesus Christ
through word and deed. The resource
minister’s title for this area will be
Minister of Missional Engagement.
Summer Instrumental Opportunities
e are offering two exciting summer opportunities for anyone who plays, or
wants to play, an instrument:
♦♦ Sandy Simmons will lead an Instrumental Ensemble on Sunday evenings, 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the choir room, beginning June 7 and going through
August. This group is for adults and high-school students who have played in
band for at least four years. We are hoping it will evolve into a church orchestra
in the fall. All you need to do is show up at the first rehearsal in the choir
room with your instrument.
♦♦ Secondly, Sandy will also teach lessons at the church on Mondays, Tuesdays,
and Thursdays. Lessons are for all orchestral instruments and for anyone age
12 and older. This is for beginners as well as those who already play an instru ment. Materials and music are furnished and the cost is $10 per lesson. The only
thing you need is your instrument. Those who are interested in lessons should
contact Sandy Simmons (893-6978).

May Special Offering Emphasis
T
he gifts of North Carolina Baptists
to the Mother’s Day Offering bring
life-changing hope to hurting patients
and families. These gifts help patients
suffering from serious illness and
overwhelming financial need pay their
hospital bills – in the name of Jesus
Christ and His love. They are drawn
closer to Christ in lasting and heartfelt
gratitude.
Those you help “fall between the
cracks” of assistance. They work hard
just to make ends meet and then experience painful hardships when illness
strikes. They have too much to qualify
for Medicaid or charity care – but not
enough to pay their hospital bills.
Facing their fears alone, they hear the
news of God’s grace, “Your hospital
bill has been paid by compassionate
and mission-minded North Carolina
Baptists in the name of Jesus Christ
and His love.”
Thank you for being a lifeline of
hope through your gifts to this ministry! Thank you for pointing people to
Jesus Christ and His great love.

H2H News
his year’s H2H golf tournament
raised $7,050.52 for this ministry.
This, combined with beautiful weather,
golf fun, delicious hamburgers and
hotdogs by Billy and Kirsten Oakes, and
donating leftover food to the Ronald
McDonald House made for a great
day! Thank you to all who had a part
in this year’s tournament.
