Kinney is a priest of the Diocese of Fargo, ordained June 6, 1992. He was first assigned as parochial vicar at St. Mary’s Cathedral under Fr. Bitz. He has served in Anamoose, Drake, Balfour, Esmond, Orrin, Hillsboro, Reynolds, and Larimore. While not formally assigned to the Cathedral, we are happy to have him in-residence and assisting at the Cathedral. He also provides priestly ministry at Sanford hospital, other Fargo parishes, the Presentation sisters, and the VA Hospital. *Altar Society Corner* Next Meeting: Our last meeting before summer break is Tuesday, May 5th after the Novena (7:30 pm) in the social hall. Palm Sunday Bake Sale: We raised just over $700 at the bake sale. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success, especially the bake sale chair, Donna Wadnizak. Spring Celebration is this weekend! This is the only BIG fund-raiser for St. Mary's now that Adventus Christi has returned to just being a dinner (without booths). Please make sure you invite ALL your friends (even protestant ones) as this is our biggest fundraiser ever.* Mothers’ Day brunch—Next Sunday, May 10, there will be a Mothers’ day breakfast/brunch after all Sunday Masses! Our food pantry here at St. Mary’s feeds approximately 10 families each month, and we work with approximately 5-10 families/individuals every week who contact us for assistance. Since the beginning of 2015, we fed 25 families and individuals from our pantry and provided over $4,500 in financial assistance including energy assistance, dental bills, food, security deposits, and rent to over a dozen different parishioners and/ or clients within our boundaries. We also donated food and volunteer time toward the Sheltering Churches project. A heartfelt thank you for your generous contributions to our Charity Fund! Also, the food baskets in the St. Joseph’s entrance are getting filled regularly . . . Thank you!! The food is getting used! Please remember to bring in nonperishable items. We mostly need: cans of Vienna sausages (pop-tops please), saltine crackers, cans of chili, soups, pasta and canned meat sauce.
