China-America Literary Symposium 2015:
Reading Contemporary China
The Chinese Arts Series on May 27 at the Confucius Institute for Business at SUNY will be a symposium of
contemporary Chinese authors who are participating in BookExpo America 2015 (BEA). Our distinguished
speakers include: Mr. Liu Zhenyun, Mr. Bi Feiyu, Mr. Feng Tang, Ms. Lan Lan, Mr. Zhao Lihong, Mr. Xu
Zechen, Mr. He Jianming, and Mr. Cao Wenxuan.
This year BEA welcomes China as their Global Market Forum Guest of Honor. China will have the largest
international delegation to ever attend BEA’s forum with an expected turnout of over 500 Chinese
professionals who represent more than 100 publishing companies and 50 prominent authors.
Our event involves in-depth discussions about the role of writing in the contemporary world and the
prospects for literary interactions between the U.S. and China. This event will be in English and Mandarin
with translation available throughout the evening.
This program is in collaboration with Confucius Institute at SUNY College of Optometry, Confucius
Institute at Columbia University and Confucius Institute at Pace University.
We welcome academics, editors, publishers and members of the literary community, as well as the
general public, to join us for an engaging literary exchange with these highly-acclaimed authors.
