the poor, providing support for our young people, the sick and the lonely, worshipping
with reverence and enthusiasm, providing stewardship for the gifts God has committed to
our care, and celebrating together as a Christian family.

in a special way to be missionaries through prayer &
participation in the Eucharist, and by giving generously

Pro-Life Banquet
Witness for Life
The Pro-Life Banquet will be held March 11, 2015
at the Bossier Civic Center in Bossier City. Fr.
Jonathan Morris, a priest in the Diocese of New
York, will be the keynote speaker. A registration
card was handed to you as you came in Church.
Registration form is on back of this card. For more

click on “Pro-life Ministry”. For sponsorship contact: prolifedioshreveport@dioshpt.org. Tickets
are $60 each.
St. Frances of Rome Circle ladies will meet on Oct.
16th at 6:30 pm in Vandegaer Hall. We will be finalizing
plans for our upcoming Halloween Carnival which is
scheduled for Saturday, October 25th. All ladies are
invited to attend.
Annual Halloween Carnival
This is an event each year sponsored by
the ladies of St. Frances of Rome Circle.
To make this a fun and festive occasion
for our youth, we need your assistance—
time and resource. There are sign-up
sheets in the foyer requesting you to set
aside some time, and the resource we are asking is a
donation of bags of wrapped candy. Please drop off
your donation in the Parish Office.
40 Days for Life is a peaceful, prayerful—and proven
effective—Pro-Life campaign. 40 Days for Life features
three components: (1) Prayer and Fasting: Join together with other believers for 40 days of fervent prayer
& fasting for an end to abortion. (2) Peaceful Vigil:
Stand for life during a 40-day peaceful public witness
outside the local Hope Medical Clinic, 210 Kings Hwy.
(3) Community Outreach: Bring a positive pro-life
message to every corner of our city through media efforts, advocacy & public visibility. The Knights of Columbus in conjunction with St. Mary’s & Sacred Heart
Churches are again participating in a prayerful vigil on
Tuesday, Oct. 14 outside the Hope Medical Center for
Women from 7am to 7pm. Would you please look into
your heart and pray for one hour outside the Clinic.

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament
Church will hold its FALL GALA
RAFFLE on Sunday, October 26,
2014. Tickets are on sale now for
$1.00 each. Prizes include 1st -$500
cash, 2nd—40” TV, 3rd—IPad and
4th—$100 cash. Tickets are available in St. Mary’s
Parish Office. Winners need not be present.

program—we need YOU to make our
new family album complete. Life Touch,
a professional photography company, will take pictures at our Church: October 14-18, and again October 21-25. Stop by the
desk in the vestibule of Church and sign-up on the
sheets on the desk. Be sure to include a phone number
for a reminder call for your appointment. Each family
will receive a complimentary 8x10 portrait and a directory for participating.
We are looking for people who would like to buy an Ad,
or buy a Spot for a memorial picture of a loved one
in our new pictorial directory. Prices for these vary depending on the size you want. For more information, call

Dinner and a Movie has been rescheduled to Monday,
Oct. 13th in Rooms 5 & 6. We will be watching The
Agony and the Ecstasy. Join us for film, food, and
fellowship!
We have some people who are asking how they can
help our seminarians. There is a drop box in the vestibule of Church labeled “Seminarians.” Some of the
items needed are: shirts, shoes, pants, and toiletries. If
you have any questions, please contact Fr. Francis at
the Parish Office.

8th annual Bike Ride
October 17 & 18, 2014
Registration is $30 per person on the bike. Registration fee is not refundable. T-shirts will be available beginning Friday, October 17th at 5:00 pm in the Red
River District in Downtown Shreveport under the Texas Street Bridge. All proceeds benefit children’s health
in the region. Registration forms are available in the
vestibule of Church or by calling (318) 681-6100 for
more information.
