Tough Love:
When you read this I shall be on my way back from Retreat in Cincinnati and Fr. Frank will be getting ready to
go on his at San Pedro. We will be praying for all of you and asking for the grace and strength to serve you as
you deserve. Being pastors of the Lord’s flock is a wonderful life but it is also a pretty daunting task. St. Augustine wrote this in the 4th Century. Please pray for us that we may be true shepherds who will tell you what you
need to hear, rather than what we think will make you happy.
Fr. Robert.
“But what sort of shepherds are they who for fear of giving offense not only fail to prepare the sheep for the
temptations that threaten, but even promise them worldly happiness? God himself made no such promise to this
world. On the contrary, God foretold hardship upon hardship in this world until the end of time. And you want
the Christian to be exempt from these troubles? Precisely because he is a Christian, he is destined to suffer more
in this world.
For the Apostle says: All who desire to live a holy life in Christ will suffer persecution. But you, shepherd, seek
what is yours and not what is Christ’s, you disregard what the Apostle says: All who want to live a holy life in
Christ will suffer persecution. You say instead: “If you live a holy life in Christ, all good things will be yours in
abundance. If you do not have children, you will embrace and nourish all men, and none of them shall die.” Is
this the way you build up the believer? Take note of what you are doing and where you are placing him. You
have built him on sand. The rains will come, the river will overflow and rush in, the winds will blow, and the elements will dash against that house of yours. It will fall, and its ruin will be great.
Lift him up from the sand and put him on the rock. Let him be in Christ, if you wish him to be a Christian. Let
him turn his thoughts to sufferings, however unworthy they may be in comparison to Christ’s. Let him centre his
attention on Christ, who was without sin, and yet made restitution for what he had not done. Let him consider
Scripture, which says to him: He chastises every son whom he acknowledges. Let him prepare to be chastised, or
else not seek to be acknowledged as a son.”
PARTY WITH THE LORD.
ALL OF YOU, ARE WELCOME.
Happy is the day when a good celebration accomplishes everything that it
was intended to do. We had an evening where we could forget our worries for a
while enjoying each other's company with laughter, song and dance. Just being
happy. We're lucky if we have days and occasionally, a holiday of true joy. My
parents and I celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary even though my brother,
sister and nephews couldn´t be here. However; we offered everything to the Lord and He blessed us with the company of our friends and acquaintances who gave us their affection and prayer.
During this occasion we realized that this is what God wants for all of us. He is inviting us to enjoy happiness without limitation and, as pledged, also invites us to participate in the Eucharist as much as is possible for us,
celebrating the heavenly banquet of his Son Jesus. However; do we take it seriously and give the importance of
this invitation? Are we aware that we are all invited, even with our weaknesses, poverty and sadness? And do we
always enjoy our celebration with the Lord? Father Robert has been calling all his people and constantly is teaching us to live the Eucharist as a community of faith and love.
In another vein, I am calling on the members of the vocation promoters of our parish, to prepare for the
next meeting of the Parish Vocations Committee this coming Thursday October 23rd, at 7 pm in the Fr.
Anderson Building. We’ll appreciate your presence.
Finally we express our FRATERNAL welcome of Father Rogelio Landeta. He
is a Venezuelan Priest of the Diocese of San Cristobal, Táchira State. He will
be with us for the next 15 days, living a pastoral experience at the parish of
Saint Ann Catholic Community. May God and the Blessed Virgin Mary
whom is one for all light him up and make fruitful all the time he will be sharing here with us. God bless you all. Fr. Frank.

Please make sure that you check the bulletin for my office
hours, and call before you come to make sure that I am in the
office.
Some parents who did not attend the August 23rd Meeting did
not call or come to my office as requested. If you placed your
child in a class without speaking to me your child will not be
attending classes this year until you come to my office.
Unfortunately some of our parents are not following our arrival and dismissal rules, therefore we are now going to Plan C.
All parents or designated adults that are responsible for the
delivery and pick-up of our students will park in the parking
lot in front of church and then walk with their child/children
to the classroom. You will sign your child in and when you
return to pick-up your child, you will need to sign your child
out and your child will walk with you to your car.
If you have not paid Tuition, you may do so on the Saturdays
that you drop off your child/children.
PLEASE DO NOT COME TO MY OFFICE DURING THE
WEEK IF YOU HAVE NOT CALLED TO MAKE SURE THAT I
AM AVAILABLE .
May God continue to Bless you and your family.

familia. No estaban mis hermanos y sobrinos.
P. Frank
