Retirement Fund for the Religious
Aging religious need your help. Senior Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests offered their
lives in service to others—educating the young, comforting the sick, seeking justice for the oppressed. Today, many are frail, elderly, and in need of assistance.
Your gift to the Retirement Fund for Religious supports
basic necessities, such as prescription drugs and nursing care. Please give generously to today’s second collection.
Troubled Marriage
Are you concerned about your marriage? Do you feel
lost and alone? Are you hurt, frustrated, or angry with
each other? Are you arguing or do you simply shut

ENTRANCE TEST: Saturday, January 22nd. Preregistration required.
From the Desk of the
Pastor, Fr. André Ramos
We have come now to the Second
Sunday of Advent. As we move forward to the Christmas Holiday, we
hope we Christians prepare spiritually and not merely
with material things. Let us show our deeper faith
through holy symbols like the Christmas manger, Santa
Claus, Christmas tree and the Star of Bethlehem to
name few. Let us not imitate those who try to muffle
Christianity out of Christmas and put up only reindeers
and snowmen; let us say “Merry Christmas!” instead of
“Happy Holidays!”
Mark your calendars: Besides the Advent Sunday and
Christmas Mass schedules, please come and avail of
confessions Dec 14 during our 7:00 PM parish penance
service; about ten other priests will be here for you. Furthermore, instead of driving down to other expensive
places in the county for a New Year's Eve Party, stay in
Ramona, join IHM parishioners, let's have fun together
in welcoming 2011!
To volunteers of our parish ministries, only if you use
pocket calendar books, please pick one up at our parish
office. There is a limited supply. It is your parish staff’s
simple Christmas gift of appreciation for all the good
things you do for IHM.
I personally thank the Amicks, the Strachan-Keeleys,
the Holc and the Betancourt families for sharing food
(with me) these past few days.
Simbang Gabi
(pronounced Sim Bahng ga bee)
Everyone is invited to come join us for a Simbang Gabi
Mass on Thursday, December 16th at the 6:30 PM Mass.
Simbang Gabi is one of the longest and most popular
among the Filipino traditions in the Country.
It is intended to be a 9-day novena of Masses. It is a
form of spiritual preparation for Christmas, the birth of
Jesus Christ.
A reception will follow Mass in the Social Center featuring traditional Filipino food.

Thanksgiving Dinner Mass last Thursday.
Through this corner, we also thank our Sunday collection counters: Pete and Judy Harrington, Benita Moreno, Walter
Brennan, Millie Kline, Kelvin Burger, Nola Burger and Darlene Mac Donell.
Bess Campbell donates her time and energy washing and ironing our Mass linen cloths, especially the purificators and
corporals. Regina Chisholm, Pat Kiernan, Suzanne Stanton, et al worked together and individually in making our Advent

de Belén, a nombre unos pocos. Permítanos no imitar aquellos que tratan de amortiguar el cristianismo de la Navidad y poner sólo renos y muñecos;
posadas.
Gracias
