ANOINTING OF THE SICK
The Anointing of the Sick is not a sacrament for those only
who are at the point of death. Hence, as soon as anyone of the
faithful begins to be in danger of death from sickness or old age,
the fitting time for him to receive this sacrament has certainly
already arrived. (CCC 1514)
If a person is in need of Anointing of the Sick, please call the
parish office for a priest at 602-242-1300.
If the parish office is closed and there is an immediate danger
of death, please call the after-hours emergency number at
602-246-3534. The after-hours number may only be used for life
and death emergencies.

Into Your Hands, Father by Fr. Wilfrid Stinissen -
In the spiritual life, we need a central idea: something
so basic and comprehensive that it encompasses
everything else. According to Carmelite Father Wilfrid
Stinissen, surrender to God, abandonment to the One
who loves us completely, is that central reality. The life
of Jesus shows us the centrality of abandonment, for it
is truly the beginning and the end of His mission on
earth. ONLY $11.95!
The gift shop has spiritual resources and items for your
gift-giving needs. Come in for Catholic books, rosaries,
crucifixes, candles and a nice selection of religious
articles. Be sure to check out our clearance corner!
There is a section of Steve Ray’s books, DVDs and
audio cd’s. Come and get yours while they last!
Thank you to all our volunteers,
who keep the gift shop open and running!
"Do not look for others excuses. Try it, and
find out by your own experiences. Do not wait
until tomorrow. Today, go and spend a few
moments with Jesus, whether He is within the
tabernacle or exposed in the monstrance. Let
your weary and wounded heart be penetrated
by the peaceful atmosphere of the sanctuary
and your soul be bathed in the light streaming
forth from the Eucharistic Sun. And, tomorrow,
I am sure, you will return."
~ Fr. Jose Guadalupe Trevino

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
In this Sunday’s Gospel we find the
truth that loving God isn’t merely a
matter of fervor in our hearts, but that it
must be expressed in doing good for
the sake of others.
This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent
de Paul was able to show that we indeed love our
neighbors by assisting many families, providing food,
both for those who come into the Pantry and for those for
whom we deliver the food. We have been able through
your generous support to help families keep their power
on and in some cases help keep their water on. This is a
tremendous blessing and a gift of hope for hurting
families.
One beautiful example of loving God and expressing it in
doing good for God’s poor was demonstrated this last
week. We have had a family come into our Pantry for
quite some time, a father and four children. The father
has raised the children by himself for many years and has
had a hard time always finding work although he tries
very hard. He has raised the children to be loving,
helpful and kind. Through the love for others, five
bicycles were donated to St. Vincent de Paul for this
family; one each for the 4 children and one for the father.
It was so incredibly heartwarming and they were all so
grateful. This is such a sign of hope and a true example
of the mercy and compassion that Pope Francis is calling
on us to show with our lives. May God bless all of you for
your love.

THE “BLACK MADONNA”
TO VISIT OUR LADY OF
CZESTOCHOWA PARISH
The
icon
of
“Our
Lady
of
Czestochowa” (“the Black Madonna”) is
reputed to have been “written” on Mary’s
table top from her house in Nazareth by
Luke the Evangelist. She has been
credited with numerous miracles and healings – both of a
spiritual and physical nature. A beautiful copy of this
icon has been blessed and consecrated at the monastery
of Jasna Gora in Poland, where the original is kept, and
entrusted to the defense of life and family. Now, the icon
will be visiting Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish on
November 1, 2014, on her global pilgrimage.
Please join us as we welcome her to Our Lady of
Czestochowa Parish at 2828 Country Gables Dr., Phoenix,
to ask for her protection of life and family as well as
personal petitions.
Mass will be at 6:00 PM following overnight Adoration of
the Blessed Sacrament, honoring the Relict of St. John
Paul II and the Image of the Black Madonna.

tierra. SOLO $ 11.95.

"No busque otras excusas.

amamos a nuestros vecinos, ayudando a muchas familias,
