OUR CONDOLENCES go to Zelma Kay on the loss of her husband Tom and to Warren and Cheryl Kay, Brad and Holly Kay, Lenna
and Garth Cordett and their families who have lost their father and grandfather. His funeral was held on Thursday, October 30.
Tom’s brother, Ernie Kay, passed away on October 22, at 86 years of age. He taught at CUC from 1969 to 1984. His wife Evelyn
resides at 12275 SE Menser Court, Damascus, OR 97089.
OUR SYMPATHY also goes to Mercie Jean-Baptiste whose brother passed away recently.

CONGRATULATIONS to Dolores and Ken Proud as they celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary on November 5.
PAA MUSIC FESTIVAL: Parkview Adventist Academy is excited to have Junior and Senior High School musicians participating in
the music festival on campus this weekend. They are joining with CUC/PAA Choral Union to present two anthems during our worship
services today. Students participating come from Chinook Winds Adventist Academy, Calgary, AB; College Heights Christian
School, Lacombe; Rosthern Christian School, Rosthern, SK; and South Side Christian School, Red Deer, AB.
ANNUAL FOOD BANK DRIVE is today! Drivers with vehicles, and volunteers are needed to call on homes in our community to
solicit and pick up donations of food for the Lacombe Community Food Bank. We will meet at CHCS gym at 2:30 p.m. to organize
for the food pickup. If you can help in some way, please come! Pizza and snacks will be served after.
FELLOWSHIP DINNER TODAY is served by the Juniors and Earliteens for our visitors and students who received a written
invitation. Please join us in the Earliteen Room on the lower level of the church. Dinner will be served after the second worship
service.

EVENSONG is tonight! Already the second Evensong of Fall semester is taking place with music majors, faculty and friends
performing beautiful music that will feed your soul. Our very own Dr. Denise Herr will bless us with the “Spoken Word.” What
better way to close the Sabbath?

DONATIONS NEEDED: You are invited to share in blessing our soup kitchen clients. We are preparing a gift bag for each client and
need travel size personal care items such as lotion, bath gel, shampoo/conditioner (readily available at Dollarama and Dollar Tree), as
well as women’s winter sport-style socks. Donations may be left in a box which is located in the church foyer.
JEWISH MINISTRIES: SDACC launches Jewish Ministries in Canada with a special weekend seminar entitled “Judaism and
Christianity--Repairing the Breach. An introduction to Adventist-Jewish Ministries.” Dr. Alexander Bolotnikov, North American
Division Director of the Shalom Learning Center will be presenting the series which includes sermons, teaching, and demonstrations
of traditional Hebraic services that will deepen your understanding of the New and Old Testaments and the vibrant connection

LADIES HEALTH RETREAT: “Created in His Image” will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Red Deer November 7 to 9, 2014,
organized by the Alberta Conference Health Department. Various workshops and lectures will be presented including special guest
speaker Danièle Starenkyj, well known author of 17 books and presenter/lecturer specializing in the area of women’s natural health.

LECTURE SERIES: Dr. Iain Benson, one of Canada’s top constitutional lawyers and former member of the draft committee for the
South African Charter of Religious Rights and Freedoms will present a lecture, “What Divides? What Unites? and Who Decides?” on
November 11 at 7:00 p.m. at CUC in the Underhill Lecture Hall, McKibbin Education Building.
