SERMON NOTES NEW LEADER FOR IMB Just in case you missed it, on August 27th, the board of trustees at the International Mission Board voted to elect David Platt as the new president of the IMB. Even though this news is a little dated, it is important for us, as a Southern Baptist Church to know and pray for our convention leaders. Platt, who previously served as the pastor at The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, brings to the IMB a strong passion to reach the lost around the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In his books “Radical” and “Follow Me”, Platt challenges all generations to seek after the mission that God has called them to. Please be in prayer for David Platt as he serves as the new president of the IMB. The 2014 theme for the IMB’s Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is “One Sacred Effort”. More details to follow.
