ANOINTING OF THE SICK
The Anointing of the Sick is not a sacrament for those only
who are at the point of death. Hence, as soon as anyone of the
faithful begins to be in danger of death from sickness or old age,
the fitting time for him to receive this sacrament has certainly
already arrived. (CCC 1514)
If a person is in need of Anointing of the Sick, please call the
parish office for a priest at 602-242-1300.
If the parish office is closed and there is an immediate danger
of death, please call the after-hours emergency number at
602-246-3534. The after-hours number may only be used for life
and death emergencies.

Our gratitude extends to every single individual who donated an item or volunteered any amount of time,
including our school parents and students, apostolate groups and Catholic organizations, and the parish
and school staff. Events like this are only successful with the hard work of many volunteers,
who give of their time, talents and resources in large and small, yet important ways.
The 2014 Fall Festival was a wonderful event!
A great way for us to gather together, share delicious food and family-friendly activities,
and enjoy our parish community. So many people made it a great gift to our parish.
So… many thanks to you all!

BOOKS & GIFTS
Fr. Lankeit's book-of-the-month for October
and November!
Into Your Hands, Father by Fr. Wilfrid Stinissen -
In the spiritual life, we need a central idea: something
so basic and comprehensive that it encompasses
everything else. According to Carmelite Father Wilfrid
Stinissen, surrender to God, abandonment to the One
who loves us completely, is that central reality. The life
of Jesus shows us the centrality of abandonment, for it
is truly the beginning and the end of His mission on
earth. ONLY $11.95!
The gift shop has spiritual resources and items for your
gift-giving needs. Come in for Catholic books, rosaries,
crucifixes, candles and a nice selection of religious
articles.
Thank you to all our volunteers,
who keep the gift shop open and running!

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
In the Gospel today, we hear the Good News
that when we keep our focus on God and
serve one another, God exalts us!
We are serving one another when we bring our bags of
food with us to church and place them in the SVDP food
boxes in the rear of the church. We are always in need
of items such as spaghetti and spaghetti sauce, tuna,
cereal, peanut butter, chili or canned beans, beans and
rice, canned vegetables, canned soup or ramen, canned
meat, and also toilet paper.
As you place your gift in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul
poor box, please say a special prayer for the poor who
have no one to pray for them. Thank you for your love of
the poor and your generosity in helping to serve one
another. Let us pray that God will grant us mercy and
peace!

TIENDA DE
LIBROS Y REGALOS
DE LA CATEDRAL
Del Libro-del-mes de octubre y noviembre,
del Padre Lankeit.
Into Your Hands, Father (En Tus Manos, Padre)
domingos: 10:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
miércoles: 11:00 p.m. - 12:00 medianoche
jueves:
3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
10:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
sábado:
12:00 mediodía - 1: 00 pm.
¡Que Dios los bendiga!
