GATHER
GATHER NOTE
Communion will be offered weekly. Here's what & why!
Most in the Christ Community family come to understand that in the
worship services on the 1st Sunday of each calendar month, we
include "The Lord's Table" in the order of worship. It is our monthly
opportunity to corporately remember and proclaim the Lord's
death until He comes.
What's changing? In both the Catalyst & Classic GATHER venues,
the elements of the Lord's Table will be available for those who wish to
personally observe communion on a more frequent basis. In each
service, a table will be provided toward the back. The bread & the cup
will be available, along with a small "How to observe The Lord's Table"
instruction card for use. These tables will be provided on Sundays other
than the 1st Sunday of the month.
Why is this being provided? Several reasons; 1st - some within in
our congregation have seen this offered at other churches & found it
personally helpful to them in their weekly worship of the Lord. 2nd weekend schedules for some prevent them from being in worship on a
1st Sunday of the month. This weekly provision offers them the
opportunity for "breaking bread" worship when missed on those
Sundays. 3rd - our worship leadership agreed this could be a helpful &
meaningful addition to connecting with the Lord.
During the early months in 2015 the tables will available as we look &
see if this is a meaningful expansion of worship for people. We invite
you to use the tables as the Spirit prompts you, before or after each
service. Please send feedback to wstewart@ccames.org or
cakers@ccames.org.

GROWTH GROUP QUESTION GUIDE
Unstoppable| Prevailing in Power [Acts 16]
START HERE |Did you find today’s teaching helpful? In what way? Identify one key application the Spirit made in your heart & life as this teaching engaged you.
Exploring your HEART
Exploring the WORD
Today’s teaching on the different kinds of
Acts 16 is dramatic Scripture that merits
“imprisonment” that people can experience
exploring. Look more carefully at Acts 16:27-34,
& discuss:
:A city in darkness :A girl demon-possessed
:Why do you think none of the other prisoners
:God’s servants in jail :A professional’s career took advantage of the opportunity to escape?
While not looking to be judgmental of others, :Why do you think the jailer was “trembling with
what other kinds of imprisonment or traps do fear”?
people live in which seem almost impossible :Do you think the jailer knew what he was asking?
to conquer?
:What did Paul explain in “speaking the word
When you consider your own experience (if you of the Lord” to him (vs.32)?
are a child of God), from what has God set you :Do you think it was significant he & his family
free? When? How? Was it instantaneous, or were immediately baptized? If so, how?
over time?
Now, look at what Paul says to the church that
resulted from these events – Philippians 1:1-11.
What’s Paul’s hope/prayer for them?
Exploring the OUTCOME
Thinking about “connecting people to life-defining
relationships in Christ,” how did God prepare
people for this in Acts 16?
:How did God prepare Philippi for the good news?
:How did God prepare the demon-slave girl?
:How did God prepare the other inmates & jailer?
Is God preparing people around you for the
“prison-break” that is found in Christ? Can you
identify someone who may be in process?
How is God preparing you to “speak the word of
the Lord” to others? Are you prepared to answer
clearly the question of Acts 16:30?
PRAY…about these things
