During this live session, Art will demonstrate how to locate the parameters of your current BW bookmarks and then show you how to recreate them in Analysis. During Art’s presentation, your phone will be muted. Q&A After the presentation, we’ll hold a Q&A session. We’ll open up the phone lines, and you’ll be able to ask questions. Slide 7 How To View Full Screen Slide 8 Analysis - Recreating Bookmarks Slide 9 Agenda After today’s presentation you will be able to: Describe what will happen to your current BW bookmarks Demonstrate how to locate the parameters of your current BW bookmarks Demonstrate how to recreate bookmarks (now called favorites) using those parameters in Analysis Slide 10 What Will Happen to BW Bookmarks? Bookmarks in BW will not transfer to Analysis. They will be gone forever BW will run parallel to Analysis for 90 days after your scheduled training wave begins. Use this time to retrieve your old bookmarks and recreate them in Analysis Slide 11 BW Report Center Click the “BW Report Center” tab from the SAP Portal Find one of your bookmarks and execute it Slide 12 BW Bookmark Click the Data Analysis tab If possible, take a screenshot of the layout and print it out for reference Slide 13 BW Bookmark Click the Info tab If possible, take a screenshot and print it out for reference Slide 14 BW Bookmark - Query Make note of the Query Description in the Information on Query box Slide 15 Analysis Click the Enterprise Reporting tab Click Open Analysis from the BW News page Slide 16 Find an Analysis Workspace Open the workspace with the same query description as your bookmark You can enter part of the query description in the search to locate it Slide 17 Find an Analysis Workspace Double-click the workspace to open it The Prompts screen will display Slide 18 Prompt Screen On the printout of the bookmark, take note of the Variable Values Slide 19 Prompt Screen Fill in the same values on the Analysis Prompt screen If you do not know the value for the variable, use the member selector box to pick it from the available options Slide 20 Prompt Screen Find the test in the list of available values Highlight the value and Click OK Slide 21 Prompt Screen Check the Save prompt values with workspaces check box Click OK Slide 22 Filters - BW On the Info tab printout, make note of any dynamic filters Slide 23 Filters - Analysis Add those filters to your Analysis Workspace Slide 24 BW Layout On your Data Analysis tab printout, note the columns and their order Slide 25 Analysis Layout Add/Remove and reorder columns to match the BW layout Slide 26 Analysis Layout Resize columns (if necessary) Match all other column formatting (such as Display Key/Text) Slide 27 Save Workspace Save the workspace to your favorites Click the arrow next to the save button and choose Save As… Slide 28 Saving Favorites Give the workspace a meaningful name Click the Save button Slide 29 Favorites You have successfully recreated your bookmark in Analysis!! Tip – Make sure the # of rows matches between the 2 reports Slide 30 Retrieving Favorites Workspaces can be retrieved from a users favorites area Select the My Documents tab My Documents Favorites Double-click a workspace to open it Slide 31 Complete Labor Distribution Run the Bookmark in BW and printout the Info tab and Query Layout Make note of the query description Slide 32 Complete Labor Distribution Locate that workspace in Analysis and execute it Slide 33 Complete Labor Distribution Make note of the variable values form the BW bookmark Slide 34 Complete Labor Distribution Enter those variable values into the prompt screen in Analysis You may need to use the member selector to search for the values if you don’t know them Click the member selector button next to the prompt Slide 35 Complete Labor Distribution Type part of the description for the Org Unit Click the down arrow next to the binoculars to search by Text Slide 36 Complete Labor Distribution Click the binoculars to perform the search Select the desired org unit and click OK Repeat the process for all values Slide 37 Complete Labor Distribution Once all values are entered, click the Save prompt values with workspace check box Click OK to execute the workspace Slide 38 Complete Labor Distribution Make note of the dynamic filter values from the bookmark Slide 39 Complete Labor Distribution Add those filters to the Analysis workspace Slide 40 Complete Labor Distribution Make note of the column order in the BW bookmark Slide 41 Complete Labor Distribution Add, remove or reorder columns in Analysis to match the bookmark Use Auto Update to make the process faster Slide 42 Complete Labor Distribution Adjust any column formatting or totals to match the bookmark and Analysis workspace Slide 43 Complete Labor Distribution Verify your reports match Use the number of rows or the totals on the report Slide 44 Complete Labor Distribution Save the workspace to your favorites You can also send it to others in your group Slide 45 Log Off When you are finished with Analysis be sure to log off.
