Issue 6
A N o te from the Pas to r
The jazz singer Al Jolson
wrote a song that said,
“Though April showers may
come your way, they bring
the flowers that bloom in the
May.” Well, I think our April
showers were a month late!
We have had so much rain.
But, this is the last week of
school and summer is here.
We had our CDC Daycare
graduation last Tuesday night
and it was awesome as
always. It is wonderful to see
the children give examples of
all they have learned during
the year like counting to 100
by 5s and 10s; and quoting
scripture. I am very thankful
for the dedication of our
daycare workers who love
these children and who plant
seeds in their lives to teach
them to love Jesus. But now
the school year is almost
over. With summer comes all
kinds of activities and family
vacations. Here at FBC we
also have a lot of things
planned for summer. Next
week the youth group from
First Baptist North Mobile
will be staying at our church
while they participate in all
kinds of mission efforts here
in Citronelle. We will finish
the week with a block party
on Saturday. I think our
youth will be joining them a
couple of times for worship.
Pray that God blesses the
FBNM youth group and that
our community will be
blessed. Our Guatemala
mission team led by Bro.
Johnny leaves June 4th to
spend
a
week
in
Chimaltenengo
building
houses,
preaching
and
ministering. Keep them in
your prayers as they go. The
very next week will be
Vacation Bible School here
at FBC. Mrs. Rhonda
Cochran
is
graciously
serving
as our VBS
Director, and she has done a
terrific job of getting
everything organized and
getting
our
workers
together. We will be
partnering
again
with
Crosspoint Baptist for our
VBS. Please come out and
“jump in” because we will
need plenty of help. If the
summer continues as it
starts we are going to be
busy. We need everyone
involved. You may be the
specific person that God
uses to touch a child’s life
and lead them to salvation.
We all need to be alert to
the moving of the Holy
Spirit, and we need to be
watching for Him to use us
in specific ways. It may be
through the routine, every
day events that He uses us,
or through the seeming
coincidences that we run
upon without notice. The
key is for us to be
available. That means we
must not let all the clamor
of this world drown out the
still, small voice of God as
He speaks to us and directs
us. Let me encourage you
as summer begins to be
used for God’s glory.
God bless you,
Bro. “Beaver”

Need Spiritual Help?
Youth Minister Randy Reed
School is out and vacations are planned! But the church must still be “about the
Father’s business.” (Luke 2:49) During the summer months, we often see church
attendance at its lowest numbers. However, now is not the time to go on
vacation from what the Lord desires us to do for Him. Over the past several
weeks our Next Generation Youth have been studying the “Seven Churches in Revelation” in
order to see where we are both personally and prophetically. Many church theologians would
place “the church” today (meaning all those who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior) in
the category of the Church in Laodicea (Revelation 3:14-22) which is known as the lukewarm
church. As I told the youth, there is no such thing as a lukewarm Christian though. You are
either HOT or COLD!! Let’s stay on fire for Jesus this summer and don’t become apathetic
to winning souls.

you can be present for that special time.
Dad’s Father, Alvin E. Tucker who is 93, officiated at their
