Youth

Copley Place: February 12th and March 12th 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Youth will be serving at Copley Place with the seniors during their activity time. We will be
meeting at MZ at 6:00 pm and will need to be picked up at Copley Place (528 Rothrock
Road) following Eden Eve at 8:00 pm.
Winter Jam Concert: Sunday, February 23 3:30 - 9:00 pm Cost $10
We will meet at MZ and car pool to the concert. Artists include: Lecrae, Newsboys, plus many more. This is an event you don’t want to miss, so invite a friend!

Children’s Church: Ms. Milissa and Ms. Grace will lead the children this
month through our Faith Weaver Friends curriculum that feature singing, drama, crafts, games, snacks, and some wacky surprises. Today the
children will re-create the scene when “Jesus is Temped by the Devil”.
Parent Night Out Friday, February 11 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Preschool through 5th grade are
welcome to join in our evening of dinner and movie! Grab your sleeping bag and pillow and
come hungry! “Wreck it Ralph” will be the feature presentation. A sign-up table is coming
soon featuring a fun coloring contest. Invite your friends! Please contact Carrie Knapp at

The Letter “N” is our letter of the week filled with Learning Centers about noodles, nests, noises and even weighing a few nuts. Pastor Elizabeth will talk
about Noah and his big boat during our Chapel Time on Wednesday.
Registration for our 2014/2015 school year will begin in February.
Events
We will be holding an OPEN HOUSE THIS Saturday, February 1st from 10:00
to Noon. Please help us advertise by taking a flyer to your place of employment or to your neighborhood friends with children.
Communication Cards We ask that everyone in attendance, please fill out a
“Communication Card” each Sunday. These cards help us track attendance, keep our records up-to-date and also learn how to serve you better. Please place the filled out cards in
the offering plates or give them to an usher. Write any questions, concerns, praises and
prayer requests on the back of the card.
UMW meeting This Tuesday, January 28th at 6:30 pm in Rooms 6 and
8. We joined the world in mourning the loss of Nelson Mandela. Join us
as we dig deeper into Life Under Apartheid, with our very own Rob

Events
Leadership Conference 2014 Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Akron First UMC (263 E.
Mill St.) at 9:00 am, with Worship and Praise in the Sanctuary. The doors will open at 8:30
am and lunch will be from Panera Bread. The deadline for the $15.00 registration fee is
Monday, January 27, 2014. Checks can be made payable to Akron First UMC. Flyers are at
the Welcome Center if you are interested.
Prayer Shawl Blessing We will bless our shawls during worship service
February 9. They will be on display in Experience Hall at Assembly, then
the shawls will be distributed to those in need. Monetary donations will
also be accepted to defray the cost of shipping. Please place items in
UMW collection bin in coat room, monetary donations to Nancy Peltier or Co-Wefa Scott.
A Baby shower for Steve and Maria Nuzzo will be held Sunday, February
16th at noon. Please come celebrate and join them for a light lunch and cake
in the FFC! They are registered at Babies-R-Us. Contact Jen Mangano at 330

About Our Worship
Our worship services at both 9:00 am and 11:00 am Sundays are designed to be an
informal and friendly place to experience God and grow in faith. The message is
intended to provide practical and helpful direction for Christian living.
