Valley Baptist Church Praise Orchestra January 8, 2014 THE SCORE Behold, I will do a new thing. Now it shall spring forth. Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. A new schedule is coming soon..... Servants’ Summit Tuesday Jan. 20th 5:00 p.m. 2015 State of The Orchestra Wow it's hard to believe we haven't had a rehearsal in over a month! I have missed you all and am happy to get back into the swing of things. I hope you had a restful holiday season. I want let you all know what is happening orchestra-wise in the coming months and just give you a brief outlook on the first part of our year. Starting THIS Sunday 1/11/15 we will be having our services in the multipurpose auditorium. Because of this change our new meeting time for the next 4-5 months will be 7:00am on stage in the MP. We will have only 1 sound check for the day and will NOT have a sound check between the 8:00am and 9:30am services. Yes I know it's early. Yes I know it’s different. We are going to try and make everything be as smooth as possible. There will be spots for our cases and music in the MP. We will be meeting over there at 7:00pm tonight to work out the kinks and get things set up for Sunday. As far as the rest of the year goes, the orchestra will be doing our normal Sunday morning services and the Big Band will play on select Sunday evenings. I would like to once again have a Big Band concert sometime in the spring. I don't know yet about Easter or Memorial Day services. I think those will depend on the remodels of both the worship center and ODC. As we go through these times of change we must remember what our ministry is about: Serving the Lord and reaching others for His glory. It's not about us looking cool on the internet playing our instruments. It’s not about sitting first chair. It’s not about playing the melody. It’s about serving the Lord and doing your absolute BEST FOR HIM! We aren't doing this for our personal glory, we are doing it for God! These next few months are going to be about making the sacrifice for the work of the Lord. I love you all and I believe in my heart there is not a more committed group of musicians anywhere on this Earth. God has great things planned for us this year and I am so excited to be a part of it and see how He works in the lives of us and uses our ministry for Him. - Jason Armistead Valley Baptist Church Praise Orchestra January 8, 2014 Rehearsal Order: Praises & Prayer Requests Prayer Verse: January 11th - Week 2 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this Opener is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” I Thess 5:16-18 1st Hymn Package I continue to rejoice in God’s answers to our prayers and consider it a privilege to bring your requests before him each week.
