O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
His steadfast love endures forever.
Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place.
Open to me the gates of righteousness,
that I may enter through them
and give thanks to the Lord.

CONFESSION
Merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against You
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved You
with our whole heart and mind and strength.
We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
In Your mercy forgive what we have been,
help us amend what we are,
and direct what we shall be,
so that we may delight in Your will
and walk in Your ways,
to the glory of Your holy name.

O Breath of Life
O Breath of Life, come sweeping through us,
revive Your church with life and power;
O Breath of Life, come, cleanse, renew us,
and fit Your church to meet this hour.
O Wind of God, come bend us, break us,
till humbly we confess our need;
then in Your tenderness remake us,
revive, restore, for this we plead.
O Breath of Love, come breathe within us,
renewing thought and will and heart;
come, Love of Christ afresh to win us,
revive your church in every part!
(11:00)
arr. Mack Wilberg
My God, My Portion, and My Love
My God, my portion, and my love, my everlasting all,
I’ve none but Thee in heaven above, or on this earthly ball.
What empty things are all the skies, and this inferior clod!
There’s nothing here deserves my joys, there’s nothing like my God.
In vain the bright, the burning sun, scatters his feeble light;
’tis Thy sweet beams create my noon; If Thou withdraw, ’tis night.
Let all that dwell above the sky, and air, and earth, and seas,
conspire to lift Thy glories high and speak Thine endless praise.
The whole creation, join in one, to bless the sacred Name,
of Him that sits upon the throne, and to adore the Lamb!
