For those of you that don’t know me, I was raised in on a farm Northeast Montana (Sheridan and Daniels County). I did the usual things that a country boy does. I belonged to 4H, FFA, basketball, and baseball. I enjoyed team roping and socializing. I now live just outside of Lockwood. I enjoy golf when the weather is nice and pool when it is not so nice. I always enjoying visiting with my neighbors, friends and just anyone I run into, more socializing!!! I am very approachable and want to visit with as many of you as possible. That certainly includes all the nobles around the state. So I would appreciate a note to inform me of when and where your meetings will be held. As we finished 2014 we had spent more than was budgeted on transportation, but everyone was taken care of. There is a new program to increase efficiency. Rather than sending patients to the Shrine Hospital, they well be seen locally as much as possible under the direction of the Shrine Doctors. We just had a great Christmas Party for the KIDS with over 200 in attendance. Thank you to all who provided hard work and entertainment for this party. It was Great Fun!! My theme for the year has a little to do with my unit “The Black Horse Patrol” and a little to do with getting a little more out our nobles. To perpetuate our commitment to our Shriners Hospitals for Children; by promoting community awareness of this great Philanthropy, which is really the “Heart and Soul” of the Shrine. 2. To help our Hospital Corp. Find qualified patients for the screening and outreach Clinics and to assist the Doctors and Patients receiving medical care. 3. Recorders Notes By: Larry Tipton PP 5. Greetings from the Recorder’s Desk The New Year is upon us, and you have elected the Al Bedoo Divan and officers for 2015. I am looking forward to this year as your Recorder, as there are tasks to finish up from 2014 and many new tasks happening in 2015. To make the “Red Fez” of Al Bedoo we so proudly wear, an emblem of distinction in our community for service and a symbol of our responsibility to our charity and our fraternity. In February, the Recorder’s conference in San Diego will introduce the new membership reporting program. The current one we use here at Al Bedoo is antiquated, and I am personally glad to see that we finally are going to be up to speed with a fantastic computer program to help track our membership. Unit leaders and Club Presidents will be able to access files on their members to notify of meetings and other events. Hopefully, as soon as the conference is over I can hold a session here at Al Bedoo and get those Units and Clubs on board. Illustrious Sir Jerry Granning has put together a calendar for 2015 that is full of events to keep us all busy and out in the public promoting Shrine. Let’s make sure we support him this year and attend as many of the functions as possible. You will see changes again this year as we continue to change the efficiency of the Al Bedoo office. If you have suggestions on how to help, in a positive way, let’s talk about them. This is YOUR Al Bedoo and I am here to serve. Again, thank you for your support for my re-election to Recorder. Thanks to Scott Mullen, first time caller. He did really good. Also thanks to Bob Repac, Bill Orrell, Ron Swenson and Jack Fawcett who handed out the birds. Hospital Corps attended the Christmas to Remember Parade in Laurel Montana. The Hospital Float was lit up for the parade and looked good. Mike Kirschenmann was the driver and his son the co-pilot. We had loads of riders. Fun was had by all. Mike McClurg was buzzing the street on his scooter during the parade in Laurel. Having fun!! Jack Fawcett and Ron Swenson were moving down the road in the open caddie. It was a great ride. Submitted by: Jack Fawcett May All Your Days be Circus Days. Mark Burgad, Acting Secretary Cell=605-484-6226 Chanters By: John Baber, Director “What a fabulous Concert” was the compliments that we heard after our “Voices of Christmas” Holiday show. Everything went very professionally and smooth. Kay Hansen, our Sign language Interpreter invited a full row of hearing impaired people that were watching her. So at least for 20 people we “sounded” great. The Stage Crew at the ABT were right with us and had everything set up and ready to go when we walked in the door. The show open with the Armed forces salute in songs which we get compliments on all the time and a great salute to the National anthem. Chuck Tooley did a sensational job as the Emcee. Chuck kept everything rolling on during the change overs from singers to orchestra with his announcing skills. The AKZENTS were in high form, performing several difficult numbers. Hurray for the Chanters that took on a couple of songs that gave them a challenge during practices and did perfect on them in the concert. One of the comments was how professional the groups all looked and sounded on stage. Jon Funk’s grandson sang with us and did a great job. At the end of the show, there was a Christmas Sing-Along for everyone. Even the hearing impaired stood up and “sang along with us” using their hands. Very impressive. After the concert, the performers and families met over at Jeff Neumann’s AUTOWEST business and had a great afterglow dinner. We are already making plans for our next year’s concert, please plan on coming if you missed this years show.
